Main sponsor of the teams shirts and home stand.

If true another great blow to the club and begs the same old question as to what is going on in the coridoors of power at OUR club.... :?: :?: :?:

Nigel is also the owner of the land in front of the Globe and was rumoured to be taking the majority of office space in the proposed North Stand Office Development.

A big thanks to Nigel for his tireless work in the interests of OUR club.

A sad loss.....

Can only hope he's distancing himself so that he can make an offer to buy it IF receivership is imminent. A massive shame that yet another stalwart of the club has left the Board - how many is that now over the last few years? Things have been going wrong in the Board since around 2012. We've really got to hope that Nigel and the others come back on board if and when the current issue is resolved one way or another to help give the club a bright new future.

This is terrible news, and I expect he won't be the last to go, Nigel is a devoted shrimps fan and hard working board member, hopefully he'll be back.

Nigel clearly wasn't happy at the most recent Fans/Directors Communication Meeting IMHO.

I thought that on the night it was obvious he was clearly unhappy about things.

A sad loss to the club and as CC points out, sponsor of our club shirts and Home Terrace.......

These, are NOT good times.

Very worrying news, I hope that Nigel has gone on his own terms? Always approachable and visible to the fans, one of the few that are. Has put a lot of time, money and effort into the club during the relatively short period he has been involved at MFC. Was at the game on Saturday talking to supporters after the game... very surprising.

As usual, nothing on the official website, Nigel told us at the meetings he does read SV's and other MFC social media, but feels these forums are best left to the fans, he may feel able at some point to comment on here, he may not, but I would like to say thankyou to him for trying to keep the fans involved and informed since things have started going ''odd'', and wish him all the best in his new position at Lancaster City

My glass is usually 1/2 full. I was willing to believe things were just a blip and would work themselves out. I'm still hopeful , But the glass is now 3/4 empty and may need filling again before the nights out......

Purely speculation , but I wonder if Nigel has resigned from the board as he feels he is unable to work with the new regime?, as I said, purely speculation

I reckon that most of the board have spoken to Diego in the last few days, speculation of course, it's just what I reckon.

Alright...the spirit of JBC told me, is there a problem with that?

I prefer the sprit of JD, and think he might be visiting quite a few of us this coming week. ;)

I just hope to god this is part of some longer term plan and he hasn't walked away forever.

I think something bad is coming at the end of the month and he wants to distance himself from it and hopefully return under a new regime.

I don't know Nigel or know much about him but he seems to be the main man at the moment and has put his money in buying the land etc without which we would really have been up the creak.

Very strange as was happily talking to people in the bar on Saturday so there must have been some major development with Diego.

Very sad news. Never met him but he sounded like a decent guy in it for the right reasons. He also appeared to have been bailing the club for the last few years buying land, sponsoring a stand and the shirts and also committing to the office blocks if/when they ever get built.

Our only hope is that he and a few others will still be interested in a rescue package when the inevitable poo hits the spinny thing.

Nigel is a good man, a successful local businessman and a superb supporter of the football club. Anyone who looks at his shareholding and knows about the land ownership, plus loans, knows he's into Morecambe FC for well over £1/2 million. Walking away from this must have been a huge decision.

I've been saying we're f***ed for two months now and it feels like the end game that has playing out ever since the takeover, well to be honest at least three years ago when Graham Hodgson resigned, is now in its end game.

Need to get the Supporters Trust papers signed as soon as possible.

Would we have to start again in the North West Counties or the Unibond 1st division? Going to my 9month old son to his first game on the 2nd January so when he's older I can tell him he once saw Morecambe play league football..
