Lancaster idiots halt game at Kendal

Postby Christies Child » Mon Dec 26, 2016 6:53 pm

A group of 'so called' Lancaster fans halted the game at kendal with around 10 muinutes to go when they refused to stop congragating on the touchline in front of the Kendal stand and players entrance.

With Kendal winning 1-0 thanks to an own goal their actions could have been predicted as from the first minute they threw fireworks into the terracing behind the home teams goal and contiued their idiotic behaviour throughout the second half giving the referee no option other than to stop the game until Police arrived with dogs to stop the trouble. We left before the game was completed but I assume that the idiots could be spendingsaome time in the local cells kindly provided by the Kendal Police.

It was evidently the same group who we experienced a few seasons ago at Fleetwood who claimed at the time to be MFC fans. Prior to todays game they had parraded through the streets of Kendal making their disdain of MFC obvious by shouts of 'Morecambe going down with no money in the bank'.

I'd have loved to have corrected them but didn't fancy being assaulted and spening some time in hospital.

I'm sure that there will be news of it on local radio.

Kendal won 1-0....

They latched on to Lancaster City as soon as we sent them packing.

Just goes to prove we were right in doing so.

It's nearly 2017, not 1977.

Good riddance.

By all accounts they got a bit of a pasting at Kendal last year, if it was the same clowns who posed as MFC fans a couple of years ago.......

Just hope that we never have to play Lancaster again...even in a friendly.

Would be trouble that's for sure.... :(

Why? The troublemakers aren't Lancaster or Morecambe fans. They're simply picking lower league games to cause trouble as there won't be a police presence, there'll be minimal stewarding, no cameras and the grounds are small enough that they'll get the attention they so desperately crave.

+1

I went to Giant Axe the last time we beat them there in the FA cup, never had such hate and loathing shown against us ever.

I remember the three F.A.Cup games from 1996, when they used to have 2nd replays.
The first game at Giant Axe ended 1-1, and I have never been so thankful to get home after a match as that one.
Leaving the ground was nerve wracking to say the least.
I also attended a Lancaster game v Halifax in more recent times, as a friend of mine was a Halifax fan,
and at regular intervals throughout the game the chant of "We hate Morecambe We hate Morecambe,
They are scum" was heard, and not from the Halifax fans by the way.
I remarked that I didn't think the Shrimps were playing here today!

I would agree about not playing them again.

They invaded the pitch and brought a premature end to the pre season game against our Academy kids !

I dragged my manu supporting son in law to Kendal yesterday to show him the pleasure of non league football!! very poor game with little football and alot of hoofing it up the pitch. half time i thought it would end up 0-0 and surely the game would improve. well at least there was a goal in the second half even though it was an own goal. credit to kendal who are midtable and fought hard for their win.
the group who claimed to be supporting lancaster stood behind goal on terrace and unleashed 2 flares and a number of bangers in the first half. second half they moved to the small main stand and stood singing and there was another flare.
ten minutes from time a fight broke out in the stand.. we were on opposite terrace and someone who had moved from there told us that quite a few were drunk and fighting amongst themselves. three stewards then tried to intervene and they were set upon. One in particular took quite a few punches.A number of people jumped over the wall and as play was very close to that side the ref stopped the game and asked for the police to be called. several lancaster players went to the fans to try and calm things down but to no avail.
the police turned up after 15 minutes but didnt come into the ground. the ref went to the entrance and spoke to them. at this stage the lancaster group left the stand and gradually left the ground.
some lancaster fans near me said this was not the first time they had problems with this group at away games and they had attached themselves to the club.
2/3 arrested and lancaster say they will be banned.

Pretty hypocritical to call them "Lancaster idiots" if you felt they were just looking for trouble and had done the same at morecambe. If Lancaster fans were on here bashing us we would defend ourselves by saying they aren't morecambe fans so let's try not to sensationalise this by dropped our rivals in it. We need all the friends we can get right now!

Having followed and been involved at Lancaster for over 50 years it's so painful to see these few idiots bringing our club to its knees. Not sure how easy it is to put a ban on supporters at our level? Just hope are directors are strong enough to get rid of these idiots. I was fortunate to watch games between are clubs in the 60/70s and as a fan I loved them. Carnt say I hate Morecambe like some fools I just miss playing them especially over Xmas. I hope the footballing gods are good to you and if you are relegated it's due to football and not money. Best wishes and good luck especially to Rod Taylor a gentleman I ad the pleasure of growing up with( and watching Lancaster with as young lads)

Gone_shrimping. No im not Broker, Names Billy Heron,I've been involved at Lancaster for many years. I was kit man for a lot of years and still work on the turnstiles every home game,It so annoying to see what is happening off the field when we are moving forward on it, We will probably never have a better chance to win this league I just hope we can sort everything out quickly.

Good luck in getting rid of these creatures.

They should have to report to a police station every time there is a football match being played.

Totally agree. Every time a local match is being played, Morecambe, Lancaster, Kendal, PNE, Fleetwood, Blackpool, Accrington, Blackbum & Burnley games. With them played on different games, they could have to report to a police station at 7:45pm Friday, 3pm Saturday, noon Sunday, 7:45pm Monday, 7:45pm Tuesday. It would get tiresome very quickly (just like the dickheads themselves). Make them do that for a full season and they'll quickly learn to behave.
