With our reported transfer embargo, are we still allowed to sign players who are free agents?

The embargo rules are linked to turnover, and wages, the tariff for league 2 being 55% of turnover, so basically our decreased turnover means even if Diego or anyone else brought in new money, we could'nt spend it on players anyway whist the embargo is in place.

But we could repay some of the loans and get the embargo lifted?

We could , but without a new investor we won't, this isn't our first embargo, and even if Diego hadn't appeared it would have been in place anyway, and there is no prospect of new money any time soon.

There is a large chunk of money due in January from the EFL in respect of TV money etc etc.

I have it on good authority that the EFL will use as much of this money as necessary , possibly the lot to pay to the PFA in respect of their loan.

That will be useful in reducing debt but imposes a huge hit on cash flow.

So we pay them back, are left with an empty ''dry powder keg'', but on the bright side we can go back to borrow off them next time we cannot afford the wages, sounds bleak but sensible.
