Why not keep the good will going and donate the equivalent cost of the pie and pint to the supporters trust , it's a start ?

Any chance we can get sky bet to donate the money straight to the trust instead? I don't want the pie and pint anyway. If I took them it'd be because they were free, as I always eat before I get there, and I'm almost always driving.

Nice touch by SkyBet. Good publicity and greatly appreciated.

The information below I've now been told is wrong. I can only apologise. I'll be having words with the source of this information, who clearly had passed it on to others. Please don't let this distract from the reality of our dire position - financially and of ownership.

However my understanding is that all the players and salaried staff at the club have been told they will only get paid half their wages for January. They've been told that if we get through the current mess they'll get paid in the future. While this might happen and by doing so it helps the club get through the current crisis, all the players and staff have a right to be paid and feed their families. Their sacrifice for us should be returned.

As a result, I'm very happy if SkyBet will accept it for my pie and pint money (£6.20?) to go to the Supporters Trust. If they agreed, that could be as much as £10,000 to help our fight and possibly help pay the players. Just a thought.

Wow come on guys we need to get raising funds now to try and make up some of the shortfall. Their not even saying they will get paid late but they might not get it at all.

If confirmed this is a worrying situation, and hope that a co-ordinated response between the club and the fans can mitigate the situation for the club employees and playing staff.

Building on the prior posts.

1. It would be good if the club can confirm to FCOM That the January salary payment is at risk
2. If confirmed it would be good if FCOM and the club could agree a channel for donations that guarantees 100% of any funds raised bieng directed (risk free) solely to the financial support of the above.
3. It would be then ideal if an appeal channel (supported by all parties in principal ) is set up for donations 100% allocated to the above

If something akin to the above emerges , I would be happy to throw the value of my pie , pint , and a few other bits and pieces into the pot without hesitation

Let's face it - SkyBet are doing this for the publicity. Something like free pies and pints is gets multiples of retweets and slammed on people's facebook than them making a contribution to the club - and with the sponsoring the league, such a donation may well be illegal.

Hopefully buckets can be positioned beside the vending points so that those taking up the offer can make a donation to FCOM or the Supporters Trust.

If true the story that players are only receiving half their salaries for January is alarming and must affect players' morale. Is there any way through FCOM we the fans can help in this situation? Perhaps some scheme where a few fans per player can chip in the other half of a salary. We are in desperate times and this calls for drastic action. We all chipped in for the manager's fine, how about the players' wages?

That is grim reading re the salaries! There's plenty of us that want to help our heroes on the pitch.

How much do we think the wage bill is 100k -150k per month?

If this is true, about the wages, I would suggest an organised effort by Fcom, with the clubs permission, to have members with bucketsvat the bars etc, rattling them in the queues, most fans would chuck in at least half their ''pie money'' and some chuck in more, I will ring my friend (a director) this morning, and I would urge FCOM to contact the club ASAP to sound them out, the clubs ''media tarts'' could surely get this idea some publicity and maybe boost attendance and awareness, possibly getting other club supporters making donations?

I will certainly waive my free pie and pint if the money could go to the Trust.

If you accept the pie and pint, the club get paid, and then make the donation, the trust or players get something, win, win.

Won't it depend how it is done? If everyone gets a voucher on admission through the turnstyle, people could hand their voucher in but not take the food, and trick SkyBet in to paying.

If it's not voucher, people could get multiple pies, and then the club tell how many pies were made and how many left, the difference being the amount paid. Let's face it either way is good the mark up on these pies must be good as they are expensive (spend £75 a season pies!)

They do deserve to be paid, I know I couldn't manage missing pay! Hopefully this is just temporary, we have 3 home games in February and 4 home games in March (when Accy date is announced).

After the superb media coverage of the fans paying JImbo's fine the news about the players salaries is yet more negativity and whoever leaked the story to Posh should have thought twice about the impact it would have and present the media with another opportunity to publish even more unwanted negativity about our off field problems. It's like one step forward and two steps back......assuming of course that the news is true.... :?: :?: :?:

Problem being it's another month or another potentially missed pay day before this happens thanks to the rediculous fixture list so what do we do between now and them. Need the Accy game sooner rather than later !

Mrs Sak and myself would be more than happy to bucket rattle.
Accept the pie & pint (club gets paid) and donate the cost (or more). As spud said, win win.

IMO take pie and pint Skybet pay. Donate say £5 or cost to Bucket and give to club to pay wages, Club then get double bubble. IMO no brainier. I will contact rest of Fans Club committee today see what we can do, and contact club asap.
