Rod has just done a very passionate interview with Radio Lancashire that puts the entire fiasco into perspective.

I think it will be availalbe on the Radio Lancashire Twitter feed for those who want to hear what is said.

Sounds very upset about the entire affair and said that Abdul promised some funding this week to pay wages and on the strenght of that the club assumed that everything would be OK. However Abdul renagged on his word and and Peter and Rod went to London yesterday to discuss the entire situatuon with the EFL and saught their advice as what to do.

The full interview makes depressing hearing BUT it explains in detail the entire deal from start to finish.

For me Peter McG has been too trusting in this entire process and as a result it looks as though he will pay the heaviest cost financially.

I feel sorry for Rod and the rest of the Board who I'm sure if they had the financial backing would have resolved this fiasco to everybodies satisfaction.

My own thoughts on the proposed deal is that the EFL reject Cala's bid bearing in mind his other attempts to take over elsewhere that were not successful in both Italy and at Portsmouth.

I really don't care anymore what you or others think.

My only concern is the future of our club which I really do fear for its future.

Maybe you (and shrimperteer) should spend your time on the real issues that really matter.

That's the saddest interview I've ever heard connected to the club.

I saw and spoke to Rod and Mark Dixon today.

Rod looked absolutely awful. Mark sounded like he'd been through the mill too. Whatever you say about inidividual directors or the decisions they've made they are giving it everything they possibly can to save the club. However they are doing it without ammo, guns, information and just using sheer energy. While I've been angry with certain individuals, and will inevitably do so again, I felt incredible amount of sympathy and gratitude to them at that moment for going through the last few days.

As for the staff, there was a lot of tears and desperate looking faces in the Globe Bar. I really hope if the staff don't get paid and the worst happens that we can support them financially. I seriously think this the beginning of the end. Cala and his crew are f***wits and it will end horribly with or without them.

Grim reading from yourself there Posh, and I am sure that your reputation will assure readers of the gravity of this situation.

We've needed this kind of an interview from Rod for months. No-one doubts him & his love for the club or a couple of other directors, but the silence simply feeds uncertainty.

It's been a farce. I'd hope that when Cala's representatives read this forum, they will recognise that the best way forwards is to start by appointing people to the board who can be trusted. Rod & David, if willing to remain in-situ and a representative of Shrimps Trust, along with some of his own appointments would be a positive move and one that will go some way to healing the pain felt by fans as well as removing some of the fear of the latest takeover.

Posh's analysis makes gloomy reading. I feel real sorrow for the directors but still cannot understand PMG's actions in handing over his shares without receiving full payment. He has been incredibly naive in his dealings with Abdul and Diego. I wish the new owner had kept some of his thoughts to himself until he had been able to examine the club in more detail. You don't feel there is an empathetic figure owning the club and his desire to sack all the board smacks of foolishness given that several are totally committed to the club. I fear the management's positions are now very uncertain and indeed would not be surprised if they walked unable to work with the new owner. Where this will all end up heaven knows but more than ever we need a strong, active Supporters Trust to play a vigorous part in helping to determine the club's future.

Hmmm. Not sure about that. Me taking a Brazilian film crew down there was like pouring petrol on a burning house. To be fair I had no idea what was going on as I'd been in meetings all day. However, as it turned out, it was like taking Coco The Clown to a funeral.

He's not agreed to the deal Brian. As the statement says, this is Abdullah, who funded Diego's purchase, and now it seems the beneficial owner of PMG's shares, has sold G50 Holdings to Joseph Cala. PMG would have had no say on that deal whatsoever. It is the owners right to appoint and fire directors and with them owning over 76% they can remove whoever they want. The only obstacle is the EFL.

They should make the Omega stand the Rod Taylor Terrace.

I stand corrected. Does that mean Peter is pursuing legal action to either see his sale contract fulfilled, or the return of his shares which turns this upside down yet again? Or has he received the full value of the shares, as contracted?

Totally agreed.

Remember meeting him five years ago when he bought paint for volunteers to paint the barriers red. He got stuck in himself and talked casually to all the volunteers about all things MFC. His passion was genuine and it showed so painfully in this recording. Something the Shrimps Trust should be pushing for.

I don't think we'll ever know. However I've heard the story first hand that PMG didn't receive all the money but that the Share Purchase Agreement alone was sufficient to transfer ownership. Then that the legal process to challenge it would have taken until the summer and the outcome wasn't clear cut. In those circumstances ownership lies with G50 and they have the powers to transfer assets. That, however, is my limited understanding. To know the full picture would require copies of documents and a lot of lawyers, who really don't come cheap. In the case of Graham Burnard's family legal dispute, the judge indicated that almost the entire value of what they were actually arguing over had been lost on legal fees. A contested case could have been about who had the deepest pockets. It is a grim world out there.

We have to take a chance with Cala and hope for the best because we're not in control.

But we need EVERY MORECAMBE FAN to join Shrimps Trust because regardless of Cala's actions & intent, we will need them in the future.

The trust doesn't just need everybody to join; it needs everybody to participate.

We all fear the worst with this Cala deal, but hope that it at least gives us until the summer to get more organised and be in a position to safeguard a future for the club.

Blimey, the tone of voice says it all. We have been an antelope in a desert of lions, sad for the staff and the people that have put long hours, days, weeks and years into Morecambe FC.

A sad day indeed. So now we wait to see what happens next .....
