Grab a brew, it's a long one. Despite being told to stay away, he's at the club.

Club had the money to pay staff but paid "other bills" instead

It's an incredible interview. I'm not sure who the interviewer is but he doesn't hold back with his questions, and Cala doesn't hold back with his answers!

Certainly more fired up than PMcG but then that'll be the Italian blood. Be interesting to see if Mr Padfield does interview the current directors about some of Cala's allegations.

If anybody had any doubts about the credibility of Cala to save our club and for it not to go even further into debt under his stewardshipo, then his rant at Tim Padfield (who by the way failed to point out to Cala that the commercial department is there to provide funds into the club, as it does at every other club nationwide) proves in my mind that Cala is a total nut case and comes out with some incredible facts ie the club receive from the EFL £100,000 per month...er sorry but as a shareholder I don't recall that ever being detailed in the annual statement of accounts....Fila America is his....he owns restaurants all over the world..where please.

However his assertion that the club had £250,000 and decided to pay other creditors including the tax people and not the players or staff needs to be confirmed by the club.... :?: :?: :?:

Sorry Cala but tyou are a complete and utter bull shit artist of the highest order and you are unfit to own any part of our club.

Also he says that he can't own the club until the EFL approve G50 which is what I questioned some posts ago. So the real owners are G50 but that is underdispute by Lamos.

Do us all a favour Cala, pack your bags and crawl back under the stone you came from.....

Main thing to take out of it is that he's claiming if you split the club into the football side and the hospitality side then the football bit breaks even and the hospitality loses money.

Says it's dead simple to "save" Morecambe Football Club - get rid of the hospitality department.

All the directors fault. Hospitality is the reason we lose 600k a year and he's a tip top businessman who will ditch the hospitality and spend the saving on the pitch.

If Cala is such a good businessman why does he not seem to have any significant funds? He is a complete Walter Mitty character who would be bad news for our club.

He hasn't put us into this situation though has he?

He is here because the situation has allowed him in, and if we cannot get rid of him the club is fucked.

I don't know nut I would happily send a few emails off to some of the people mentioned, especially various media outlets.

I can run the business but I'm not allowed to pay the staff.

G50 own the club. They can pay the bills. He says he asked them to pay the wages in the form of a loan.

Oh my god, what a cock.

He also says he's told the hospitality staff that they can have the building for free so they can run the hospitality themselves.

He appears to think we don't need stewards.

He thinks the current Directors - who he is said he wants to resign, should pay the Wages - Oh ok then.

If this was happening somewhere else it would be hilarious - The man is as mad as a box of frogs

God help us.

Agreed. See the statement the Trust has just issued. We're attempting to make contact with Portsmouth.

So Cala's big claim is that the hospitality is dragging down the football club. Does anyone have access to the recent financials to indicate if this is true or not?

The published accounts don't contain that kind of detail, so impossible for an outsider to know.

Though as I've said before, highly unlikely that the function rooms bring in much, if any, profit, after all the overheads, i.e. the marketing dept., management and admin staff, etc., which are all working even on days when there are no bookings, or when it's just a room hire for a local business training session bringing in just a couple of hundred quid. Hotels do OK from functions because they already have the infrastructure, i.e. reception, accounts, admin, management etc for the hotel, whereas for MFC, all that is extra. Over the years (decades!), I've been involved with the accounts of several local hotels who do functions and the function rooms don't really contribute much - certainly not the hundreds of thousands of profit that some people think the W&L brings in!

So does that mean we'd have been no worse off had we stayed at Christie Park
