How many do we think came because of the pie and a pint offer

I was wondering that myself, really hope most came to support their club in it's hour of need, would be surprised if lots came for a free pie and pint when they don't turn up when the club reduces prices....but who knows how people think......whatever a decent gate and a decent match and result to hopefully entice the more casual followers back.....well done to all involved

I doubt if many came because of the pie & pint but it may have swung a few floaters who we undecided. Also, it gave a 'hook' to advertise & promote the game more than it would have been normally.

I think the pies added a few to the gate but I think the penny has finally dropped that the club needs more through the turnstiles to continue in the EFL.
The unbeaten start to 2017 also helped to persuade people to return to the Globe.

I agree - It's been a catalyst which led to a lot of publicity and public awareness. I don't think many will have come "just" for the pie and pint, but it's a sweetener and people love to think they're getting something for nothing.

Marketing isn't all about "big" incentives. The little things mean just as much, if not more.

We now need to keep the momentum. After the promotion, a good game, good atmosphere, whoever is running the club day to day really needs to come up with something else next month to boost it and keep the interest. The feelgood factor of yesterday will last a couple of home games and attendances will be a bit higher than they were at the end of last year as some floaters will carry on coming, but will soon wane again. Doesn't need to be big - maybe a discount voucher handed out at the Grimsby game. Just something to make people think they need to come back to use it - people love getting a discount - that's why all the big brands do continual incentives - all about maintaining brand awareness.

People don't want to feel they're being taken for granted and don't like feeling they have to keep coming from a sense of emotional blackmail. Unfortunately, that's how far too many have felt over the last 2-3 years. Loyalty etc is a two way street. The club giving a little back to the fans is worth a lot and will keep the community feel.

The pie and a drink was a huge incentive, given that adults could also bring children free in the family enclosure, the offer was worth 6 quid or so, meaning a ''Lad and Dad'' could enjoy the match with refreshments for less than 25 quid, a regular offer like this would be a massive carrot to lure fans back ,at a time when we are playing well and getting a lot of publicity.
