O/T Radio Lancashire and Paul Weller tonight

ex Burnley player Paul Weller was asked his thoughts on our clubs current sitution with regards to the squad size and was not at all sympathetic stating that in his days clubs didn't have the luxury of 7 subs and were perfectly capable of playing week in week out with squad sizes of less than 19 which is our surrent squad size.

Whilst full of admiration for Jimbo's loyalty and efforts to date he reiterated that he had little sympathy for our situation, basically saying 'get on with it'......

For me it's a case of....   followed by....

A winning team of very good players on a perfect pitch is a lot different to lesser players constantly chasing better players around a pitch fit for cows and sheep, one thing calla was correct about was the state of our pitch, it must be very tiring to play on, and easy to get injured on.

Weller has always sought attention since the Jam split up.

Jim will always get praise for the job he does on the budget and so he should do. But there's been a lot of home games this season when the other teams have been there for the taking and we just simply haven't been good enough with the same old hoof the ball tactics !

The difference being that back then everyone was in the same boat with small squad sizes.

We're running at 19 players and 15 or so of them have been there since the first game of the season whilst everyone else has 25 ish players with lots of fresh legs from constant bringing in of loan players and new signings in January. It's not a level playing field.

Disappointingly for me, that's how we got the goal on Saturday. I had just gone tut again regarding a Baz hoof, when Mullers latched on to it and scored :o

I presume as a purist you didn't cheer or applaud then  .

We then proceeded to roll it out every time to the defence and tried to play through them on the deck, without success, but at least we tried. So you must have applauded that? :D

I agree with Shrimpy, its not a level playing field, it makes me laugh when ex pros come out with the "in my day" bollocks.
Get with the modern day or bog off the radio you bloody dinosaurs.
And I bloody hate the Style Council, poncy nances all of them! :D

Paul Weller has been responsible for a large part of the worst of our season.

At Newport all I heard was, "the game's been called off due to Paul Weller".
At Leyton Orient, "Paul Weller overnight has caused a frozen pitch".
I heard Chesh saying, "I can do things with the pitch if it stays dry but Paul Weller is the real killer".

He's a twat that lad.
