Often there is a team that slips into the relegation places in the very last game of the season. Could it be us this season? A question that would have been inconceivable during our fine spell in February now is a distinct possibility after a run of 7 defeats with only 6 games to go. Looking at our remaining fixtures, on current form there are few points for us to collect (Hartlepool?) and all the while Newport are gaining points and bridging the gap. Its a worrying time and relegation would surely reduce the value of our club and deter potential buyers. We need the players to raise their game and play out of their skins for the remaining games, players that have been paid late on several occasions and including some players out of contract at the end of the season and unlikely to be offered a new one. Challenging times for the management and desperately anxious times for Shrimps Supporters.

I'm starting to think it might actually do us good, start a fresh with a rebuild and bounce back, we've done it before and can do it again.

Remaining games are Home v Hartlepool,Colchester and Wycombe
Away v Stevenage, Exeter and Luton
The season is far from over. We will definitely still need some points from these games to be safe.

We have difficult games but look at the six remaining fixtures for the bottom two. They will need three wins and a draw just to be level with us and looking at their fixtures I don't think they can do that task.

A win against Hartlepool would give us breathing space!

I agree with that assessment, although Acci Stanley may end up needing to do us a favour

Calm down everyone. Lets get behind the team on Saturday and grind out a result.

All teams have six matches remaining. Worst case scenario we lose all six matches and finish on 46 points. Newport would need ten points to move level on points with us but inevitably above us on goal difference. That's three wins and a draw from six matches which is unlikely. Hartlepool require five points and Cheltenham four. The chances of all four aspects of this scenario happening is highly unlikely. We are staying up but it has been another poor season.

Even though our home form has been lousy I feel next Saturday's game is huge for us and the future of our beloved club. A win would put us out of reach and ensure we survive. A loss would be a huge incentive to Newport who have greatly improved and have a slightly easier run in than us.

Newport would need 4 wins put of their remaining 6 , and we would have to lose all our matches, even the most pessimistic fan would struggle to find relegation realistic.
