Excellent news and just the kind of Centre Forward I feel we've needed for some time now. Let's hope that he can more than fill the boots left by Cole who has gone onto bigger things in Scotland.

Just get the Central Defenders sorted and we could have the squad to have a better season than of late.

:) :) :)

Thanks go to Posh for breaking the news about this potential signing.....

As CC says, exactly the type of player we need. I can see something like this working...

----------Oliver
Kev---Campbell---Thommo

Just a couple of centre backs needed and we're pretty much there.

We've signed Kevin Campbell? He's older than Thommo! :D What is going on with all these forwards being signed? Has Jim had a funny turn? Out with defend in with attack? Hope so! :D

From a York fan at work:

"seems better on right of a front 3 than as a target man. Big, powerful, but head goes down quite easily if it's not going his way. Tends to do ok if team is built to suit his game, so hopefully you have a system in place already that works for him. "

My Mansfield contact tells me that Oliver scored 7 goals in 30 appearances for the Stags in 2014 and 2015. Whether we can read anything into those stats is debatable.

Treated in the right way, as we know Jimbo can do, he will be fine if not better.
If his record had been 15 from 30 we wouldn't have had a look in. 20 and he would have been off to the Championship

Did JImbo deliberately not say anything about the triallists even though Deakin is already with us he was down as a triallist and for me (and a few others) he impressed with his speed and potential.

That's what a trialist is supposed to do , impress the manager so he will get a contract . Just like you impress us all Neil with your brilliant assessment of players and managerial staff. ;)
