O/T Double glazing repairs

One or two of my double glazed window units (uPVC) have condensation between the glass panes (they are about 18yrs old).

Has anyone used the local firm Cloudy2Clear Windows based in Lancaster for similar repairs? Are they any good? What are their prices like? Would you recommend them?

Or would anyone like to recommend any other firms in the Morecambe/Lancaster area for this type of work?

Need reasonable prices, decent job, trustworthy firm and no heavy pressure to replace all the windows!!

Thanks guys and gals :D :D :D

I've used Cloudy2 Clear a couple of times Nick.

Cloudy2Clear aren't Lancaster based, their branch there is franchised out. They're a National company.

First time (about 5 years ago) - they were excellent. Couldn't fault them.

Second time, I think their local franchise must have been taken over because they came to repair my top pane double glazing handles and left saw marks all over my upvc frames which look a right mess now. Also, on the same visit they ordered the wrong patterned glass for another window and I even ended up having to lend them my Phillips screwdriver for some of the repair.....

Third time, (another separate job) I was promised a call back and I'm still waiting - 12 months later.

I went to Plas-Tech in the end and was given first class service and great prices.

Thanks guys.

Plas-tech sounds like the best bet - presumably they can fix just the affected panes without replacing the double glazing throughout the house!

Yes, I am a Shrimps Trust member, so the 15% off would be a great bonus!

Anyone else used Plas-tech for double glazing repairs?

I've used Cloudy2Clear a couple of times and had excellent service at a reasonable price, plus they swopped a couple of units from clear to opaque in my conservatory free of charge (long story involving planning dept and a miserable old sod of a neighbour).
Good job I kept the original opaque units just in case ;)

I have used Plastech to replace failed units several times. Always done a good job at a reasonable rate.

Just had a window replaced by Plas-tech.

When it came to paying the bill, they refused to give me the Shrimps Trust 15% discount because I had not asked about it when placing the order

Makes you think that maybe they load an extra 15% onto the price quote at the beginning for Shrimps Trust members so that when the discount is given upon payment it hasn't cost them anything

Just thought I'd mention this so that fellow Shrimps Trust members can be aware!

Probably exactly what they do.

How about get a quote and then mention the discount before accepting the quote. I wonder if they would then retract the quote?
