What an absolute crock o shite Winnard is! Surely he isn't the best we have at CB? Today he was slow, weak, tactically and technically inept, had terrible positioning and was a complete liability on the ball. Thank God I'm an exile now and don't have to watch that pish every week! He must be laughing getting paid to put in that type of performance...

Also, how anyone other than Thommo could be given MoM today is beyond me. Busted a gut for the team today and mostly looked like the only playernin a red shirt interested in beatingnour local rivals.

Totally agree,we have got some good player's but why keep swapping them about

Last week Oliver was rested because of a slight injury, this week Winnard plays with an injury!! If injured he should not be playing! Yesterday he looked like he was still playing for Accy

if that's accurate information regarding Winnard, ?? then that's odd.


we could have gone with at least 2 fit Central defenders with Muller & Old and then Osbourne a goal scoring midfielder playing instead.

same old JB thinking !

Despite a less than convincing performance I'm midfield I still think that given more game time in central midfield that Muller could be the answer to our obvious problems there but with Winnard looking to be suffering from injury Muller could well have to revert back to the centre of defence alongside Old, unless JImbo decides to give Lavelle an extensive run out in his favoured position.

JB mentions this in his post match interview

Playing 3 at the back doesn't help our current defenders. They are not used to it and look really uncomfortable in the system. Go back to a back 4 please!

Is Jim the right man to get the best out of anybody ,he has been given the resourses he wants and still cant win how much longer can this go on

Honestly thought Rose put in a great shift but was far from his original best too... One minute he's sprinting around, winning the ball back and spraying it 60 yards, recently (this season + a bit at the end of last season) he's been terrible... He could not have suddenly transformed so much worse without it being down to Jim's training or tactics...?

This early in the season and already the Jim out campaign has started.
I think we are bloody lucky to have him.
Maybe if we all get behind him and the team and think positive, then this forum may be 1 monkey off his back.

I reckon he has done wonders so far, I say it every season, we are punching above our weight !!
We should be National league at best maybe conf North.
I'm enjoying supporting a football league side, long may it continue, and if it doesn't, I'll continue supporting Morecambe whatever.

To be fair, he hasn't been given the resources he wants, nothing like it, we still are bottom of the food chain money wise. What he has done is chose to invest in a larger squad with more younger and cheaper players.

We are only 1 point behind Chunky evans's Mansfield and look at the resources he has been given , 3 points of the playoffs FFS .
Its early days and we have a lot of new faces in the squad ,far too quick to criticise!. in Jmbo we trust

To be fair 3 out of the 5 results are good ones.

Cheltenham took 6 points off us last season so to beat them was good.

Lincoln City away , their first game back in League 2 and it was always going to be a siege so a draw was good.

Cambridge United away , they beat us 7-0 18 months ago when we had Miller and Devitt so a draw was good.

Swindon Town home , they came with big reputations , a £350k striker and we under-performed on the day. Their results since that game suggest we should have done better.

Accrington Stanley home , we never beat Stanley in the League under Sammy McIlroy so Jim's record against them is decent. Unless you get a good referee who has wing mirrors to see all the shirt-pulling and pushing then we always get bullied by them. An incompetent referee on Saturday made sure we were going to be on the wrong end of the result.

Have we built a squad of youngsters to make up the numbers who will probably struggle to get a first team game rather than operate with a squad of say 24 than the current 28 and should have invested in a wee bit more quality

totally agree with aspers

we have the smallest attendances in the league, smallest budgets and continue to play league football.

its only the start of the season so lets get behind Jim and the team and see how far it takes us.

at times Saturday we were playing against 12 men with the ref so obviously on their side, so lets try to be the teams 12th man and show that for a small club and fan base we can be the loudest by getting behind the team.
things are better when we all get together and fully support

How many more weeks should we give him then its the ame story at the start of every season and too much swapping about with systems and player positional changes to may players for certain positions

Haven't we been here before? Last season it was 'Jim out' until the financial meltdown and then he became a hero again.

And as for Winnard (the title of the thread) , he said on the morecambe site that he likes Trump because he is against political correctness. Is he serious?

He gets as long as he wants. He's kept this club together.
Players, season after season, sign for us for one reason, and that's Jim.
This season he's not been able to do his usual and sort his team by April, so we're playing a bit of catch-up. But we looked more promising as the game went on and, with Osbourne, Lang and McGurk looking okay, I think we'll grow into the season.
We are Morecambe; not Luton, not Coventry, not even Accy, who have BOUGHT players... please, keep the faith!
I'm more encouraged after Saturday than I was after Cambridge, funny as it may seem.

Just hope that JImbo will have faith in the 3 named by Shrimper from minute 1 rather than rely on Kevin as an example.
