MFC Corner routines

One thing that we seem not to do is to vary our corner routine. They always appear to be aimed at the far post.

I watched the Leicester corner that resulted in their second goal where it was aimed at the near post and we failed to pick up their goalscorer.

Maybe we should vary our routine and use the near post as an alternative.

A lot of goals are scored throughout the game from a near corner routine.

I prefer the back post, just not when it misses everybody. We do go for the near post a lot and the first man heads it away...

I'd be happy if we could just -

a) get it over the first man
b) not send it over everyone and out for a goal kick

On a consistent basis. For a team of professional footballers at league 2 level, I don't think I'm asking for too much?

Get Stanners back...as long as we don't have him taking direct free kicks! In all seriousness though, I often feel that we overcomplicate corners. Just rasping it nicely between the six yard box and penalty spot will often cause a lot of trouble whether it has a massively specific target or not. Alternatively, pumping it to the back post to Vadaine to head back across is probably a good shout as he wins a majority of aerial duels. Also having everybody peel off to the back post while someone, say Kenyon, starts at the back/edge of the box and makes a run to the near post while everybody else draws the markers away is probably a good shout.
