Trying to feed children who are in poverty is always going to be political if you don't believe such children exist, because you can't see them from your ivory tower.

I'd be interested to know what the links to Momentum (Boo! - it is pantomime season after all) our beloved MP talks about actually are. Anyone who actually takes the time to visit the modern-day equivalent of soup kitchens where volunteers hand-out basic supplies to people who are experiencing genuine hardship can see what is really going on in this town. But Morris the Minor never goes to such places, does he? There are all sorts of people in places like these after all, aren't there? (Yes: they're called your constituents). How simply dreadful. But if you just ignore them instead...

There’s things I would like to say about him, but it’s unfair on Keith and this site.

All I can say is people voted for him...... god knows why.

Could it be that people voted for him because he was the Conservative candidate, and quite a few vote Conservative anyway in the Morecambe and Lunesdale area?

It looks like he has reported some of the people who have posted on his FB page to the Police.

It is amazing how these MP's get so far up their own arses that they forget they actually work for the people.

My suspicion is that he’s lying about this too. Having seen a few other MPs report death threats he thought he’d jump on the bandwagon.

He’s a consummate liar. Lying about the link Road; Sunderland Point; Morecambe Bay Primary School’s Ofsted; his expenses; etc. It’s great to see him being brought to account by local people.

He seems to class the tax payers who have issue with his conduct as "Trolls"and wipes any comments that he disagrees with.

David Morris is always stating in the media that he lives in the west end of Morecambe - I'm pretty sure that is untrue. He is rarely seen in Morecambe period.

The only time people actually see him in the area is when there is a photo opportunity - e.g. opening the Bay Gateway.

I sincerely hope we manage to get him voted out at the next general election.

If the constituency boundaries are going to be redrawn to create one that encompasses the whole of Lancaster and Morecambe, as has been proposed, I think his departure could be a formality...

More about national party politics than individual candidates. People didn't vote for him, they vote against Labour.

Most MP's are economical with the truth....just as most of them hardly ever answer a question.

Saw the oppositions Home Secretary on TV this morning and can't recall a single answer she gave to questions asked of her. Mind you it's not the first or will be the last when she's avoided answering questions.....

We all need to be careful what we say on this thread as the forum is open and can be read by anyone. As said above he has a habit of reporting anyone who disagrees with him to the police. (Allegedly  )

It's going on in every town, we aren't unique. You'd be surprised who uses food banks, it's likely everyone on here knows someone who is but doesn't know they are. Some should but don't, a matter of pride, while others go on TV and show an essential monthly list of outgoing bills that includes £51 to Sky.

Well the headteacher at West End charges up the mobile phones for parents who have no electricity ! So they get their priorities right , must have the mobile before heat and food.
My parents couldn't afford a telephone in the days when the only phones came from BT but they never relied on the school to feed me or do our washing.
Food banks started in 2004 long before David Morris was an MP and there has always been food banks but they were run by the Salvation Army.

It's almost more upsetting, but unsurprising to see the same sneering comments on here as on social media.

What a foul, depressing, judgemental society we have become.

Completely agree

"I wonder how many use food banks that actually don't need them"
There will always be unscrupulous people that take advantage of any system.......is this any reason not to have food banks?
Surely a better solution would be for society to eradicate the need for food banks, whoever runs them - there would be nothing to take advantage of then.

Well said. People's pious know-all attitude on these issues really grates. They've never been near a food bank or have any idea who uses them but feel they're fully gifted to be able to be judgemental about them and those who use them.

Clearly you have any idea why people why mobile phones are essential these days. Schools send text messages for issues such as closures and to contact parents when a child is sick; job centres contact people via mobiles; if you're working, sometimes in more than two jobs, it is the only way to organised child care; and there is so much more.

The comment that it is more important than heat and food is utter nonsense and based on nothing but prejudice.

Well done on the good life you've led and the great upbringing you've had. Now go down to Morecambe Foodbank, one of the schools, West End Impact or Stanley's Youth Club and genuinely find out what is going on and then comment.
