Whats the worst that can happen?

After last nights fun and games, a couple of things struck me.
Jim didn't rant and rave at the team at half time, he was calm and pointed out that unless we stop worrying about Yeovil and play our game for 45 minutes and show that they the players cared about the shirt, that change was coming!!
His own quote was get out there and impose yourselves, what's the worst that can happen?
Some have said it was 70 minutes of crap, but I disagree, to me we came out with a better attitude and our passing was far better from minute one of the second half. We looked more of a threat and created and kept fluffing chances. Which in turn lead to more time wasting from Yeovil and them dropping ever deeper in their own half. Showunmi the huge centre back won everything in the first 45 but our possession allowed us to pick up most of his headers in the second half and apply more pressure.
This in itself eventually lead to the 72 minute reply from Vadaine. So perhaps the lesson is we should just go out and have a go at everyone, and we may well score more, particularly now we have a fully fit and functioning Lang??
This leads me nicely to my second observation, talking to the players after the game, Flemmo, Kev, Callum L and Vadaine all mentioned the crowd getting behind them in the second half before we scored helped lift them.
The Omega stand singing encouraged them, gave them some belief that even if they didn't score, the effort, which was much improved, was appreciated by the crowd.
So well done to everyone who made a noise, as it made a difference, and in these very testing times, every little thing helps.
Sticking together and encouraging coupled with the "what's the worst that can happen" attitude on and off the field, earned us three more points.
Let's keep that going, both on and off the field.
And by the way I understand Why Callum got MOM as he was superb, but a word for Flemmo, who was again excellent, even in the first half.

Can't complain about the superb entertainment or the result but the method by which it was achieved wasn't in my opinion down to the football we played. Yes we pressed and Yeovil contributed to their own downfall by excessive time wasting and needless acts of petulance and non existent injury but our constant hoof ball and a refusal to play the simple passing game on the deck could have seen Yeovil off long before the final 20 minutes.

One thing that was striking was the way the crowd got behind the lads and the response to Jimbo after the match showed that he still appears to have the backing of some of the crowd which contradicts the view of quite a few at half time who suggested a change was needed and that his final 45 minutes as manager was imminent.

It was even muted before the game that unless we got a positive result that it would be his demise.

Hopefully he has learned that by concentrating on how we play and not the opposition will be a turning point in our season.

One thing for sure is that we badly need some extra quality in the team come January......money permitting.

Neil, our tactic in the second half was mostly diagonal left back to right wing, right back to left wing long balls, didn't see too much hoofball, to me the passes started hitting there mark and stretching Yeovil, three of the goals came from crosses out wide, which aren't hoofball, surely?
First half we did try too many long balls, second period more diagonal ones against the wind, result, a win.
Try enjoying it and not over analysing it, oh and stay to the end, and don't leave your seat shaking your head, you just look like a miserable pillock.

But that's my opinion.

If my memory serves me correctly I can only recall leaving a game before the end on no more than a couple of times this season....and my leaving was with no more than 5 minutes to go.

Last night I did something I've never done for years and that was to descend closer to the opposition's dug out to vent my displeasure at their tactics which in my opinion thankfully contributed to the extra 6 minutes and had it not been for those extra 6 we could have finished all square.

As for being a miserable pillock.....

Must add, what a leap by Oliver to score our opening goal to get us back into the game. You could tell his delight at that headed goal in his celebrations....

Not sure if you are suggesting that I left early, but I can confirm that I stayed until the end of that fabulous game and waited till the team and manager had left the field to a resounding response from the majority in the ground.

To suggest otherwise is completely incorrect and whoever made the original claim is totally wrong.

I accept that a number find some of my posts a load of rubbish ( in their opinion) but this Forum is and should remain open to all views and opinions.

On the couple of occasions I did leave early one was to get home due to a family crisis and the second was when the team had played so badly that I with a few others had had enough....something that I'm not proud of as a supporter of over 60 years never having walked out before the end of a game before.

Whatever opinions i put on here after the match i and the few that stand on the berlin wall shout encouragement to our side. Also barrack and point out the rules to the referees and assistant! The opposition get stick, especially when they pretend they have been kicked in the head but don't want the trainer on as they will have to leave the pitch! (Anyone else notice the trainer took the long walk back round via the empty away end) Even my brother was shouting on Friday (mini berlinwaller was shocked by grandad)! Through rain (mainly) or shine always try to cheer the lads on even when it's dire stuff. Opinions usually wait until the game has finished. I remember watching us v Bangor City many years ago, stayed put til the final whistle! Thankfully we've never been THAT bad since! It was nice to actually see some fight in the side on Friday....long may it continue. Also, players and managers come and go the fans are (dwindling) permanent

Most fans over a certain age, have...and always have had a bigger team and their town team to support ..particularly when their town team have been non league for most of their lives ...my first game at Christie in 1972 was attended by around 250 fans...anyway, what's your problem with this , it's a game not a relationship.
