O/T Hillsborough - the Truth. Who said this?

One of my Xmas presents was a copy of Phil Scraton's book Hillsborough The Truth. In it, he notes the murder of Ken Bigley, a charity worker, by the so-called Islamic State in Iraq in one of those gruesome videos that these heartless lunatics like to launch onto the world from time to time. Poor Ken was a Scouser and Phil Scraton picks-up the following quote which conflates his murder with the suffering of the families bereaved at the Leppings Lane End in Sheffield by a certain someone who put his rather large foot in it again yesterday in a different context. Guess who wrote the following:
The deaths of more than 50 (sic) Liverpool football supporters at Hillsborough in 1989 was undeniably a greater tragedy than the single death, however horrible, of Mr Bigley; but there is no excuse for Liverpool's failure to acknowledge, even to this day, the part played in the disaster by drunken fans at the back of the crowd who mindlessly tried to fight their way into the ground that Saturday afternoon. The police became a convenient scapegoat,The Sun newspaper a whipping-boy for daring, albeit in a tasteless fashion, to hint at the wider causes of the incident.
These wholly unfounded words about what actually happened in Yorkshire on 15 April 1989 were written by...
Our very learned Foreign Secretary, the Right Honourable Mr Boris Johnson.

There are two words I (almost) never use in front of Mrs A. One of those, the 't' word, I recently used to describe Mr Johnson whilst in the car with her, and I didn't even apologise.

Actually Pablo it was £350 million a week; he now says it should be more like £420 million!
The £100 million is just what he's asking for here and now. And note that thanks to Brexit, we've just had a huge rebate from the EU because our economy has failed to grow at the anticipated rate relative to the rest of Europe - yes we've got a financial bonus but at significant cost to our own economy, which must be somewhat greater than the rebate we've received.

Actually nobody said anything about an extra £350 million exclusively for the NHS from the EU contributions.

Too right Gone Shrimping.
That bloody bus said that the £350 million COULD be spent on the NHS...not that it WOULD be.
It's the media and other political parties creating shit as usual.
Well done to Boris for speaking out on this....

Could/Should - it's semantics. The main issue is that it was a deliberate misrepresentation of the figures. The guy is very intelligent and cultivates the buffoon angle, but I detest him and his lies and manoeuvring. I hope with all my heart we never get Boris as Prime Minister.

I actually wrote that it never said WOULD....and that is a fact....
However I do agree that the NHS needs extra funding BUT it's an almost impossible task to determine from one year to the next the extra money needed to cope with the annual needs due to the varying degrees of things such as the current outbreak of the flu virus. Nobody was able to predict that this current virus would see the numbers affected which has without question seen the NHS stretched to breaking point.
The simple truth is that whatever party is in Government the money allocated will never be enough.

'Could' or "would" are irrelevant,
BOTH were a complete lie. £350 million COULDN'T ever be spent on the NHS because there would never, EVER be a £350 million saving. The Brexit campaigners knew that it was a lie but repeated it throughout the campaign. If you don't believe that a significant number of people voted to leave, based on the lie that the UK would be £350 million per week better off, you are deluded.
If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes a truth. Which is why Thatcher and the elite kept repeating the lies about Hillsborough, so that for a long time, it became the truth.

The £350 million per week is our gross contribution before the rebate negotiated by Mrs Thatcher is credited.
The Leave campaign were quite correct to point out that when we stop making these huge contributions then some of the money that we won't be sending to the bloated beaurocrats in Brussels can be allocated to the UK for such causes as the NHS etc
Incidentally the Liverpool fans and their spokespeople seem to keep very quiet about their part in the deaths of 39 people at the Heysel Stadium in 1985 , no doubt Keith will blame Mrs Thatcher for this too !

So, not £350 million then? In other words "
a lie" to knowingly use that figure?
We '
could use' "
some of the money" to fund the NHS...
Obviously, '
we won't because we want to run it down & sell it off, so we'll fund tax cuts for the wealthy out of what is actually left' is more accurate but a bit less catchy as a slogan.
As for Heysel, no defending the thugs in any way. And I don't like the selective grief, dismissing Heysel and rarely a word about Bradford fire or Ibrox crushes that led to avoidable deaths of football fans. The difference is, the state didn't try and cover up the circumstances behind those*. Liverpool hooligans in Heysel were scum, no question about it.
*
Some people suggest the truth wasn't entirely forthcoming in Bradford either.
