Steve Yawson and Luke Jordan out on loan

Postby Christies Child » Sun Jan 28, 2018 1:52 pm

As mentioned elsewhere a couple of our younger squad memebers have joined Kendal on loan to help them out of a player crisis but also to give them both regular game time.

Steve Yawson and Luke Jordan are the players concerned.

Luke Jordan put in a few appearances for the first team last season, not had a sniff this! Looked promising going forward, think he hit the woodwork within minutes of his arrival? Too positive/forward thinking for JB??

Steve Yawson had a successful loan spell for the Mint Cakes last season. He scored the opener and hit the crossbar in their eventual 2-1 defeat at Colwyn Bay yesterday. Hope Luke Jordan does well also; seemed a really down to earth but ambitious guy when he was part of the Q&A panel for the Trust Membership launch night at the start of the season.

You’d like to think that both players would stand out at that level, so it’s an important test for the pair.

It’s a shame that there aren’t many local clubs other than Kendal that seem to want to regualary loan our youngsters; perhaps a reflection of where we are as a club in terms of developing youth and the perception of our squad players? Turner has dropped two levels, as has Elliot. Jim often states that we lose out on targets to national league sides who can offer more money.

I know some of their fans don’t like Morecambe, but having a similar relationship with Lancaster City as we do with Kendal might be mutually beneficial for both clubs - given Lancaster are in a higher league than Kendal atm.

5-1 win for the Mint Cakes today vs Ossett Albion. Jordan and Yawson both on the scoresheet.

Seems a bit tough on Luke after the way that JIm praised him last season. Hasn't had a look in this.

I understand Steve Y has also returned from Kendal.

For me, questions should be asked about the need for a reserve team if we are looking to save money and the fact that nobody has come through for a few seasons now.

Discuss....

I've only seen Jordan play once and I was impressed with the lad. Seemed full of confidence and willing to take on his man at speed. However, we may not know all the facts. Attitude, training performance etc.
