I realise money is tight but we must have freed up a little bit with Rhys Turner and Elliott Osbourne moving on. It is vital we sign at least one player before the transfer window closes on Wednesday. The current squad doesn't offer enough going forward to create and score goals. The squad needs freshening up with a new player or two. Relegation is becoming a distinct possibility and the next three games against Port Vale, Chesterfield and Forest Green are huge games we can not afford to lose. Defensively we are okay but hoof ball is not creating anything and certainly not worrying opposing teams. If Jim has no money then how will the club survive if relegated and losing the Football League money. I fear we will do a Torquay and go down several divisions at best. At worst the club will fold! We need action from the owner/board now before it's too late.

It may have freed a little something, but not much, we couldn't even bid half of what Miller is on at Crewe or even less on Cole at Carlisle from what we learned yesterday. It's frustrating.

Certainly is....but no doubt Jim and Co will be doing their best to bring someone in who can do a job straight away and not sit on the bench.

Just keeping everything crossed that a deal can be done with somebody but fear that we will miss out.

So we've clearly tried to sign Miller, Stockton and Reid. All the while we have one of the best strikers at the club (presumably on one of the bigger wages) sat warming the bench.

McGurk is a decent striker at this level, who has hardly played as a striker all season, yet still has more league goals than Oliver/Ellison. Lang is our top scorer and for the last match played behind the front two and was then taken off. We had it with Barkhuizen playing RB, now he's doing it with Lang and McGurk. Please, Jim, play your best players in their best positions then work the team around them.

Why are we looking at getting another striker when we aren't prepared to play our best two strikers in their proper positions??? We've also scored in 9 of our last 10 games (13 goals).

Surely with Old pulling up on Saturday and Winnard clearly not being in contention, we could do with another CB so that Kenyon can stay in midfield where he is best?

LB: Conlan / Brough
RB: McGowan / Lund
CB: Old / Lavelle / Muller / Kenyon
CM: Rose / Fleming / Kenyon
CAM: Wildig / Campbell
Wingers: Thompson / Ellison / Campbell
CF: McGurk / Lang / Ellison / Oliver

That to me looks light at CB & CAM, not up front.
HOWAY THE SHRIMPS!!!!!

On topic(ish) and proud!

Same with Podge who barely played in his best position.

Same with Kev - hopeless these days as a winger/midfielder, but scores when he's played as a central striker.

Same with Moly - the poor guy never knew where he was because he was put in a different position almost every game - no wonder his performances were hit and miss.

Need to stop building the team around Vadaine and putting players in their best positions. If that means leaving Vadaine, Kev, Thommo and other on the bench occasionally even if fit, then so be it.

.... not forgetting Andy Parrish, who must have played in every position other than keeper... Garry Hunter wasn't far behind

Whilst I agree with most of your post I think you'll find Kev is top scorer with 7 league and 1 cup goal,

Not if you calculate the goals per minutes on pitch. Other players have spent far fewer minutes on the pitch than Kev and also others have more assists than Kev. It's not difficult to be the top scorer if you get the chance to play the full 90 minutes for most games, when you compare against people who've barely played a full match and may only play the last 10 minutes or so.

?? obviously every day is a school day, I always thought to be top scorer you put the ball in the net more times than the any of the other players.

If you're working on the "minutes played vs goals scored" then, according to the BBC sport page, Sam Lavelle must surely be our top scorer, but what do I know?
