Definitely! Jim has often commented how much of a difference it makes when the crowd are behind the team.

Great win today.
I love Jimbo to bits. When this topic comes up time and time again, I always think “would anybody else do better given the circumstances?” Debatable. “Would anybody care as much or work harder?” Not in doubt. That’s good enough for me.
However, I actually think that we are underachieving with the 11 we can put out, on paper this is one of if not the best squads Jim has had - yet at the moment as the table shows its performing as one of the worst. I back him to rectify that.
What I can’t stand in the Jimbo In/Jimbo arguments is how entrenched people are in their opinion, as though its black or white. The fans that walk around in free jackets and tickets crowing about every win in defensive of the mangers position are equally if not more annoying than the people who seemingly take pride in our defeats, if only to hammer Jim some more. A bit of balance and subjectivity would do both sides the world of good.

A Welcome 3 points.
I'd like to point out, this game was played away from home where most Morecambe FC supporters or just football fans or floaters(hate that word) pay to watch us, if this Result had of been at home I'm pretty sure there would have been a thread with people raving about how the players played individually and praised Jim with how the team was set up, it was like a statement of intent.
A lot will be now expecting the same starting 11 for the next game and I should imagine will be dissipointed especially if we struggle to score goals with a different lineup and mindset next week.
It's looks like a winning formula, so stick with it.

Agree with both RRW, and GD on this post so far , I actually think that some people on both sides of the "Jim in Jim out" debate just dislike others and use it to have a go at each other, most fans appreciate how very lucky we are to have such a loyal, honest and hardworking management team we have , working under extremely difficult circumstances , Shrimpsvoices is quite a mild forum compared to some and there's nothing wrong with the disgruntled few having a moan, even if they are wrong.

Just amazing to watch, we are such a Jekyll & Hyde team.
Quite a few today as we stood watching the players come on the pitch said " you watch, now that they are playing on that luxury of green stuff (ie grass) we will play well and beat them" - and so we did.
Pass with not so much hoof - amazing - still in shock to be honest.
As George says, it's a shame our Home faithful don't get to see this style very often

So if the pitch at The Globe truly is making this massive difference, what plans does the club have for doing anything about it? Clearly with all the problems at the moment, it is just one thing on a long list. I am most certainly not an expert on turf/playing surfaces etc., but I am sure that there are a number of companies out there that could fix this problem once and for all. But the club can't afford it of course; however could we not negotiate with such a company that they get the stadium named after them for X number of years in return for sorting our pitch properly? Don't know, but it's just a thought!!
Good publicity for the company involved if all teams visiting can see the improvement in the playing surface and immediately link that to the name of the stadium.

Excellent win and performance as well.
Just hope that Jim doesn't change the line up on Saturday.
As for the pitch it has been said before that the position of the main stand is part of the problem as it blocks out the sun for the majority of the day resulting in the grass not being able to repair itself as quickly as we would like. I also heard that the turf was placed on a mixture of sand and soil which in hindsight was not the ideal substructure. Not sure how much truth there is in this...
Their is a local turf specialist I understand who may be able to offer some professional advice as to how to improve the playing surface.

The pitch problem requires a very large investment , until we have a new owner it will continue us to be a major problem.

The first season at the Globe we played reserve matches at Parkside Road in Kendal to save the newly laid pitch. They were evening kick-offs and it may be a problem with an amateur club to use their ground for 1pm kick-offs as they are now.
The other week a reserve match was played in monsoon conditions which must have been a factor in the state of the pitch now.

Would it be unreasonable to look at playing reserve games at Giant Axe?

Glad you’re finally getting round to appreciating the problems our pitch causes us, as Jim mentioned again in his post-match interview.
Blame for the pitch, as I understand, falls heavily on PMG and his team. With an internationally regarded pitch expert living locally, we went down the cheap option and instead spent the money elsewhere. Sounds like a few other decisions.
Bring on the sugar daddy.

Just arrange reserve games away from home.
If we can't because of a reserve league fixture list, then don't bother with a reserve team, just have a first team, think Accrington Stanley and a few others do this.

Have never suggested otherwise. My problem has been that other teams are able to play on the ground at The Globe whereas we seem unable to do so.
I got a real bollocking at the beginning of the season when I suggested that we had a season of training ground problems to look forward to. Seems like I wasn't far off the truth.
Appears that PMCG is getting the blame for everything that is wrong both with the pitch and other things non football related. Wonder if some of it is personal.....

I read an article recently about Wycombe saying they can't afford a reserve team, if we don't get an owner soon, I could see us going down the same route.

Its not personal from me CC, I don't know the bloke , but I think most of the club's problems are results of his decisions, on the other hand is your vendetta against the manager personal?

No problem with Jim just his style of play at home......and I'm not the only one with a similar point of view.

Anybody who knows anthing about football realises we cant play the same set up at home. The pitch has a massive bearing on the way we set up the team to play, hence more direct style of play. Not seen many teams at the globe play well on it,let alone us.No where to train and I mean NOWHERE to train also has a massive bearing on the consistency of our play. The school holidays we didn't train anywhere apart from the gym.Couldnt even get on the college astro-turf pitches.Like a swimmer not being able to get in a pool.We are what we are, fact not excuses.Teams around us have brought in many players,us 1.Yet we are still beating 2nd in the league. We need to get behind the team every game between now and the end of the season giving the management and the team the best chance of avoiding the dreaded drop.COYS

So, just to get this right. Jim says the pitch is awful and everyone agrees. A year ago, Cala said the pitch was awful and everyone attacked him for saying it. ????????

Credit where credit's due. Good line-up with 4 at the back and McGurk playing up front and justifiably rewarded for playing good football. Good on all the fans who were able to travel down and support the team at Wycombe, you did a great job and it looks like it helped the lads on the pitch.
More of the same all round please!

Ah yes the crowd mentality of Modern Britain.
We must be right - loads of people think so.
Can imagine this now. "Is there a doctor on board", "Nah don't worry, there's 6 of us, I'm sure we can work it out.

And no-one disagreed with him saying the pitch is terrible or getting better players.
It was pretty much everything else.
