The board itself needs renewing. As well as often not showing the next game coming up, the board looks like it represents a team in a league well below League 2 standard.
It looks shabby, and needs replacing. Yes, it's another cost, but it does give a first impression of the club to a passer by, and of course it needs to be up to date with forthcoming matches.

The board we had at Christie Park was more visible to passing traffic.
If updated and improved it is useful to inform local people who support other clubs such as Man Utd , Liverpool etc that they can see football locally when their team isn't playing. Do we still do that deal where on production of a season ticket for another club one can get a cut price ticket ?

how can the club moan about lack of support when things like this are not attended to.

Very poor.
Just a thought but shouldn't this be on the list of things to do for the ground staff rather than it be left to whoever remembers to do it...if at all.
I know that Chesh and his team are busy but this must be a priority....surely

Or someone driving past could always spend 2 mins of time and change it? I'm sure the club would be thankful.

It's NOT for a fan to change, it's the responsibility of a club employee to make it part of his or her scheduled 'things to do'....we are after all a full time professional club and should not be reliant on a passing fan to do such a fundamental thing of such importance.
If the local cinema didn't charge an employee to advertise the films on view, would it be the role of a passing individual to do it.....no way...
Just a pity that we can't have an electronic board that could be programmed to change from inside the ground and be the responsibility of the admin staff as a 'first thing to do' on a morning.

Yes I drove past about 3pm nothing advertised.
I was wondering whether there was an issue with the fixture.

Walk down the shopping streets in Lancaster, there is advertising on or outside the businesses
What is it for? To catch the eye and inform the shopper what type of shop etc.
It's all about that first impression.
It would be very interesting to compare us with other League Two teams this afternoon in advertising their Easter Monday match.
My guess, with no evidence by the way, is that they would all be advertising this afternoon that they have a fixture tomorrow, Easter Monday.
e.g. Can't imagine Luton v Mansfield not being on a board outside their ground right now.

Unforgiveable! When I worked for Morecambe Corporation's Publicity Dept. in the 1960's we would have been hauled over the coals for something like this. And if there was ever an out of date poster on display, even by just 1 day, it was a disciplinary offence. Seems like standards have dropped in the 60 last years. That's progress for you!

Tag your friends, family, colleagues, local information groups etc.
More tweets will be going out this evening and tomorrow right up until Kick Off, and don't forget Happy Hours straight after the match from 5 - 7 pm.

Well done Shrimps Trust and although social media gets the message across to the masses there is still a place for a big bright sign outside the ground for those of us that don't use Facecloth or Twatter !

I can't check it myself, but I wonder if the match is on the board yet?
Would be interesting to know when they put it up or are intending to put it up.

Social media is all well and good but to ignore good old fashion board advertising is criminal

Totally agree Bill. It would be nice to have a sign to be proud of that would catch the eyes of locals and, new or infrequent visitors to Morecambe, who are perhaps unlikely to follow the various social media accounts relating to the Club or the town.
Does anyone on here have any contacts who may be able to help the Club out with this issue?

I love Quinny and everything he’s done and is doing for the club but on Radio Lancashire about 10 minutes prior to kick off last weekend he was asked about the 800+ attendance on the Tuesday night.
He said it was the people of Morecambe’s fault for not supporting their club and that they were a ‘disgrace’. He also said that the club ‘were doing everything it can’.
Sorry, but not updating the ground boards is just another example of the shambolic way the club is now being run, despite the efforts of a few to try and prop it up. It also shows why local people, who have attended games in the past are losing faith. Christ almighty, North West Counties League clubs keep their outside fixture boards up-to-date as it is the simplest form of advertising to regular passing trade.
I can’t wait to get this season out of the way so we can hopefully use the summer to resolve the ownership situation. At the moment, the most likely way is administration, taking the points deduction and using administration to get rid of all the debts, hangers on and clueless and give someone new a clean start. It is getting desperate now.

Agree Posh. It makes me think negative towards management for not keeping a simple sign up to date. Think of the passing BH traffic. This board should have been changed last Monday.
Why not make it a current member of staffs job to change it on their way home straight after a home game, for the next game. Even if it only gets 1 extra fan in, it is worth it.

The board itself needs renewing, it's been there for several years now.
Can anyone check if today's match is on the board yet??
