Such a sad piece of news BUT I wonder if their troubles started when they gained promotion to EFL1 and found the cost of players more than they had envisaged.

If so a sober lesson for clubs like Accy who will face an increase in playing costs as would we if and when we follow in Stanley's footstep.

Even with an increase in gates I doubt it would cover the running costs of either club, but I'd still love for us to be in that position of going for it... :D

I think this is where we get told about the dozens of other clubs who have done it successfully on a shoe string and if they can do it there is no reason why we can't even though we are looking down the barrel of a very large cannon  . Dream on guys!

Relegation from the Football League won't have helped matters. We're on a knife edge regardless, relegation would push us over the edge I think.

So how did that work out then?

Similar to us in the way they are surrounded by more illustrious and appealing clubs.

The feelings of getting spanked at their place in the L2 playoffs come flooding back but it would be sad to a Club which has played such a major role in our history go to the wall.

The PL and Sky fat cats are overseeing the death of lower league and non-league football. I fear D&R will be one of many.
