Well with McGurk, Ellison and Lang that sounds hopeful to but it depends what they have been instructed how to play it. A bit surprised Flemmo isn't in but maybe the thought is that the heavy pitch might not be advantageous to him.

Anybody got any idea what Ross Joyce, the ref, is like. Will we be struggling against a ' shit ref '. ?

The Morecambe fans are certainly doing their bit. Crowd doesn’t look big but a section are making a decent noise.

Lang has had a couple of decent chances. The second was of his own making, but then missed the target (admittedly from a difficult angle). Kev is everywhere. Defense looks solid.
COYS!!!

Put commentary on for the end of the first half.

It’s funny... as it stands at half time, we’re fourth from bottom, five points clear of relegation, with Chesterfield relegated tonight. If you asked fans of Barnet or Grimsby if they’d rather be in our position or theirs, I’m sure they’d swap. So why do I feel so nervous???

Just another point will do it. Trouble is, we'd relegate our Barnet friends if we get it on Saturday. I'd rather see Grimsby drop but, more importantly, we need to stay up!

This could be a very important point. I would much rather have to get one draw from our last two games rather than have to get a win. Sure, everyone will be nervous on Saturday but Barnet will be under far more pressure

Their final game is at home to relegated Chesterfield too...

Just been looking at the league table.
There is a sub-plot which no one has mentioned.
That is that Grimsby could go down with Chesterfield, and both Barnet and Morecambe survive.
They are also on 45 points but with a worse goal difference than both Barnet and Morecambe.
So if Barnet beat us and then Chesterfield, and Grimsby lose their last two games, Grimsby would go down.
Which very strangely means we could lose to Barnet and Coventry, and still survive.

I thought we played really well tonight. A good shape using 4-2-3-1 with the right personnel and everyone put a shift in. we could easily have taken away the 3pts and justifiably so, we really took it to them in the second half. A couple of good saves from their keeper too.
Same on Saturday against a worse team than Cambridge and we shouldn’t be in any bother!

Great effort tonight unfortunately it was a case of so near yet so far it almost seemed inevitable that it would come down to the game against Barnet.

I thought he had a decent game, a lot better than some we’ve had

In a season of generally awful refereeing I also thought the referee against Cambridge had a decent game.

Funnily enough it was the same ref as Port Vale (H) and Mansfield (A), where I thought he had a poor game, so it's good to see they're not always bad!

While disappointing not to get a winner, we tried hard and against a lower side we should win (how many times have we said that though?)
The major disappointment for me was the attendance, 992.
I know Liverpool/Roma was on and that it was a wet Tuesday night but we could have confirmed our safety then and there so that low number hurts.
Still the fans that were there were in good voice.

Last nights penultimate home game of this miserable season typified all that has gone before.
Plenty of ball but for me not enough pressure put on the last man in the oppositions defence. Too often we had only Callum offering any kind of effective pressure on the Cambridge back line which for a game of such magnitude was strange.
For me it was only until the final quarter did we exert any threat and for the neutral observer it was probably hard to understand the lack of any sense of urgency with so much at stake.
As in previous games all our corners came to nothing and I so wish that somebody would put pressure on the goalkeeper in such situations rather than simply appear to accept that it was going to be the goalkeepers ball. What is wrong with someone making a run when the corner is taken so that they can be first to the ball?
As someone commented on the way out the substitution of Campbell seemed a strange move as he was without question one of the few bright sparks in the game especially when for me Kevin offered very little.
At the back despite a late scare we looked solid and had their No 9 who is on his way to Hearts well controlled thanks in part to another excellent display by Sam Lavelle.
So we now move onto Saturday and the Barnet game which will be more of a battle as both teams search for that vital point(s) to ensure another season in EFL2.
Could be another nervous afternoon....
And as for last night attendance....
Does this town really want or even care about having an EFL club to support...

Sorry Neil, but I think you were at a different game to me. That 'one of the few bright sparks' comments typifies it. There were no passengers last night. Everyone put in a shift, front and back. I actually thought MotM Kenyon was possibly the weakest link, as I'd have happily seen Callum or either of the Adams take it, but then Michael Rose, Sam Lavelle, Steve Old all worked hard and well, and Luke Conlan outshone AJ in the full back stakes for a change. Yes, I was disappointed we didn't get the three points, but there was nothing else to be disappointed about. If we'd played like that enough this season the finishing might have been better, as we'd've had more practice, but Jim set them up to attack, and attack they did, start to finish. We were the better side in both halves, and it was just in the final 10th, not third, that we lacked the edge to take it. More of the same please Mr Bentley (and let's not pay out the contract just yet).

Not the first time it appears I'm at a different game....and no doubt not the last.
Some would say that I've never changed in the 62 years of watching our club.
Even under the halcyon days of Mr Waterhouse and Mr Harvey I wanted and expected more.
Still we're still here to fight for our survival.
Just want the town to recognise that and turn out on Saturday....
