Today reminded me of a few years back some familiar faces came back, good atmosphere etc the fans did what was asked of them and then we get served up that and people ask why so many people don't cone anymore.

The weather was good, pitch good, ref ok no excuses today were just not good enough.

The guy must have meant about 1990 home fans and the rest of the away fans making the numbers up.

But anyway impressive turn out, sort of numbers we need every week to be self sufficient, shame the performance reminded a lot of them exactly why they've been staying away.

Seems to happen every time when there's a decent crowd.

Seriously worth bumping this thread before it gets lost!

The unexpected attendance yesterday as been my biggest shock regarding Morecambe not just this season, but in years , I couldn't believe it and even still I'm

We'd an extra 800 stay way fans returning, that's serious number, just think a few hundred more on that we'd be self sufficient!

I really hope the Board do not ignore this unexpected gate and ask themselves so what do we do for them to return on a regular basis? This is the only way the MFC can survive without going bankrupt.

It's clearly not the pricing what's putting fans off returning.

Thoughts ?

It needs shouting from the roof tops. A real sign to any potential buyers of the club of the opportunities to quickly/easily increase regular attendances. There is a lot of local interest/passion for the club, but the management (on and off the pitch) have driven people away. Change that, and better attendances could come very easily and massively reduce the risk for any new buyer investing in the club.

What a pity the extra 800 saw hardly a Morecambe shot of any note all afternoon.

But as you say it says to any potential buyer that if the team is playing good football and scoring goals then the gates would climb to a higher level than this season.
