Being an Eternal Optimist...

Always look on the bright side of life...

There have been a few flakey rumours over the last couple of months that a new owner may be on the horizon. If true, it would make sense for them to wait until it is confirmed we're a League Two or Conference side next season, as the value of the club will plummet if relegated.

So next week, we either fluke survival in League Two, and the new owner rides in to town.
Or...
we're relegated next week, and the new owner rides in to town, having paid a lot less for the club, and therefore has more money to invest in the side.

That's as positive as I can manage this morning.

Can there have been any other occasion where the team in the relegation spot require a win themselves AND a defeat for another team, yet they are considered favourites to stay up? In any other universe, we'd be thinking we're still the best bet for League Two survival... and yet we're not?

So how did that work out then?

Mr T said there will be news shortly. Also there WILL be development behind the home end, it's just taken more time to finalise than expected. The pitch will be completely ripped up and replaced for next season.

My understanding is there is not much action about the ownership. But then again any prospective owner would wait until it's clear what league we will be in next season.
