Post season Squad Stats

I'm sure those who have access to twitter will already know the great work done by Ben Mayhew in visualising football league statistics. He very recently created a set showing squad usage for each league 2 team which I felt should be shared for those with no access.

Visualisations for the rest of the league (And the EFL+PL) can be found on his website.

Interesting we have the fewest players used and fewest players in starting 11, but the most changes to starting 11, if I'm reading that right.

Exactly. The second smallest squad in the top 4 divisions (Bournemouth was smaller) but rotated heavily to keep them fresh which is understandable.

Serious nerd alert. Those are fascinating stats though.

Smallest squad but bear in mind that there was at least four in there that were part-season loaned in and loaned out; one who effectively never played; a couple of young players who had to be worked into the team; two who suffered personal tragedies that meant they missed large parts of the season; and a couple of old legs in there that needed to be spared, we were often working with a squad of less than 20. It’s miracle working, especially compared to the two teams who went down who had double the squads we had.

That's really interesting. It would be great to see that chart annotated with wins, draws and losses, and perhaps an average points-per-game and goal difference from each player.
