With less than 24hrs till the greatest show on earth starts. Are the club going to be opening JB's for any games? The Euro's 2 years ago drew good numbers. Or will this be another opportunity missed?

I will have a little bet that this is another opportunity missed
They could have shown all the England matches and put some warm up entertainment on before the England games with highlights of Morecambe v Exeter at Wembley , Morecambe v Chesterfield 4-3 and Morecambe v Yeovil 4-3

Hogarths in Lancaster are giving £50 away every matchday to someone who checks in on their app. The person that checks in on the most football days wins £250.
There are also other deals

Still nothing. They will probably decide to do something over the weekend then moan that no one turned up. After everyone has already made other plans........

How can we keep on getting it wrong?
An opportunity to make some money and keep people in contact with the club... nothing.
Also, I know that people from the club read this board. Why not take a moment to advertise events that they DO put on, such as the Gala Draw night? Post details on here with a link to the official site for full details. Same with the season tickets. In the same way that there are club members reading but not posting, there are hundreds of other people who 'lurk', reading the board but not posting. Free advertising opportunity, but not taken.
Ho-hum.
So where
ARE people going to watch the first England game? I'm actually looking forward to this tournament more than most previous ones, simply because there isn't too much expectation, so anything is a bonus.

By which time all the fans will be in the cricket club round the corner instead, you would think they would ask themselves why do our football fans go to the cricket club instead and try things to entice people back.

Are there any offers on to stop people going elsewhere? How do prices compare to the cricket club or the Exchange(which was so busy on the CL final night, they had to turn people away).
It really does look like the people in charge enjoy losing money.

3 days before. I don't know of anyone who hasn't already arranged where they are watching the game. Even if people were still up in the air where to go, compared to other venues, (very close by) there is absolutely no incentive whatsoever on that advert. If anything, all that does is remind people the game is on Monday! You need IN YOUR FACE tactics! Offers! Things to get people in! The fact that you are advertising it's on at MORECAMBE FOOTBALL CLUB in you face and not in small print at the bottom! 'Come to the Globe Arena and watch the game for an England Family football night!', 'England's opening game!' Bar offers, first goal time lottery... Build up to the game entertainment... Anything!
Chip the ball into the various bins for super prizes... Football (traffic cone) skittles for prizes... etc.. etc... (do we still have a pitch?

Better late than never. But sadly other plans have been made. And with good drink offers. Let's hope the other games are on.

Cricket Club £2 a pint, on selected games. Also drink offers on other games. Even at full price still over £1 cheaper a pint.

So you won't be going to JB's then. Your original post must have caused some panic in Director's Towers!

If only someone had told them that the World Cup was on this summer, they could have organized something sooner...

Typically when the club does arrange something it's we're going elsewhere or too expensive! Damned if they do and damned if they don't. So much loyalty to the pockets of others and then gripes the club is short of money. Just drink slower at the club and that way you spend the same amount as you will supporting the other establishments! I won't be there as i will still be returning home from work at ko time

I can't even try to reply to that, I don't know where to start. Your attitude is one of the reasons our Club has died. 'Damned if they do'? They have done bugger all. Nuff said.

Hey WW no hard feelings, we have both been around along time on here, but what would tempt me out of town and out of my house (it's free at home) to the Globe to watch the game? Nothing. What do you mean 'Damned if they do?' What have they done? Let people know they have a tele? That's all as far as I can see. Money is money... and a pound saved is... on a couple of pints... another pint. Again... Nuff said. Open your eyes and give your head a shake. Loyalty = F all when it comes down to value for money.

It would be interesting to know, how many people in the cricket club on Monday evening and how many people at The Globe. Leaving it until Friday to announce it will be open is crazy. This should have been planned & advertised weeks, if not months ago. There could have been adverts at the last couple of home games. Promotions (£1.50 a pint from kick off until first goal or whatever). Anything that makes it a venue that people actually want to go to. If The Globe is going to make a profit all year round, it might need to attract some customers first.
