Gerrys funeral will take place at torrisholme cemetry, Westgate, on Monday 25 June at 12 o'clock, and then afterwards at the Globe arena, where anyone who wishes to join us celebrating his life is more than welcome, there will be light refreshments , and the bar will be open. x.

Gerrys daughters Gillian and Fran are very thankful for the warm support from the club and fans of Morecambe FC, that helped make his funeral a lovely celebration of his life, the service to a packed chapel was that at Westgate cemetery, where Gerry is now buried, the club sent a lovely floral tribute and the burial was followed by a pleasant afternoon at the Globe arena, also well attended, Rod Taylor spoke warmly , about Gerry, and his very successful time at the club, Gerrys photo beamed at us from the scoreboard all afternoon and the staff , food etc. Were all excellent.

Mark Swindlehurst spoke both as a fan, and as a Shrimps trust representative ,and told us the trust are planning to add Gerry to the legends wall, which was overwhelming for the girls and the family.

All in all things could not have been nicer, Thank you Morecambe FC.

nice touch, not only did i notice a legends wall at Coventery, but there was also a memorial Garden with Plaques etc for people and fans to lay flowers and pay there respect, it was immaculate.

a lot wouldnt have seen it as it was at the opposite side to the Morecambe end that day.

Yes we noticed that on our way back to the car, lovely touch and maybe something the Trust could attempt to organise in a corner of the stadium surroundings? Lovely idea.
