You would think we'd be behind Port Vale in the pecking order for him, they can probably offer more money and they are a bigger club.

Can only hope Jim sells him on the path trodden by the likes of Barkhuizen, Redshaw, Edwards and others who have gone on to bigger and bigger things under his tutelage.

"The Board of Directors of Morecambe FC are pleased to formally confirm the acquisition of the club by the Bond Group Investments.

The current bank overdraft and other significant debts will be repaid in full by means of an equity cash injection together with an injection of capital to support the club financially .

As already communicated an AGM will be held in the Local Choice Suite at the club on Wednesday 4th July at 7pm and all shareholders are invited to attend.

This will be followed by a Fan’s Forum at 7.30 pm which will give all fans the opportunity to meet the new owners, Jason Whittingham and Colin Goldring, and a question and answer session will take place.

We hope that as many Shrimps supporters will attend and hear first hand the exciting future plans for the club."

Doesn't say any of the injection of capital could go towards acquiring players.....but to 'support the club financially'. Still.....better than nothing and at least some of the debts have been paid off.

So does this mean that any member of the shrimps trust can attend the meeting as the trust holds shares or do we get 'usually reliable' second hand information at the forum afterwards ?

Cannot find any news sources to support it but Stockport mate informs me Oswell has announced he is joining a football league club.

Cannot see it being us if the likes of Port Vale etc genuinely are involved but you never know

Port Vale have signed 2 additional proven strikers in Louis Dodds and Ricky Millar to add to their existing striker Tom Pope. IF Oswell does sign for Vale he will not be guaranteed a first team place and would probably start in their Reserves. Sign for us and he would stand a far better chance of first team football from the start. That is assuming that we are actually in for him. However Tranmere are also in the frame to sign him.

also he might think he's more chance of 1st team football with us being in a smaller squad than the likes of Port Vale.

According to a twitter on the PV fans site, they are saying that confirmation of him signing for us is imminent. As someone who is sceptic of twatter I doubt its credibility. Stockport fans forum is claiming the same.
