I suspect this is a mock-up pending the final design, but if not, then barring the collar, I do actually like it. I also like the use of the rainbow which, hopefully consciously, sends a positive message to the local LGBTQ+ community. :D

It is just a mock up. It's been quiet on hear FB and Twatter of late just thought it may stir a bit of interest.

I love it!
That is a great shirt and quite unique.
If it is just the mock up, then I hope something similar is produced, perhaps with a greater degree of red around the collar, moving into pink before orange with a lower proportion of the blue green part. But otherwise, big credit to the designer!

The background looks to be an interesting option, very similar to the new Stevenage shirt that went on sale 1st June. In fact if the background was the new shirt then good.

Brighton's new away kit?
I think we'd get a fair bit of stick wearing this outfit. You'd like to think we wouldn't with it being 2018, but the sad fact reamains that we would.

What's the source of the picture?

You'd not be the one wearing it on the pitch. It's not a distraction the players need, being the team with the gay kit. As much as we'd all like that not to be a distraction, in reality it would be.
Shame really because it does actually look quite unique.

Clearly it's just someone's idea of a joke anyway. Looking forward to see the real deal.

I think Shrimperteer's right. It's completely wrong in the 21st century that that's the case, but you only have to see what Gareth Thomas is campaigning for in the news today to see that an unfortunately large number of Neanderthal football supporters still think it's 1918, not 2018.

Wow what? Is this news to you?
We still have a situation where footballers feel they can't come out due to fan abuse so let's not pretend that it wouldn't be an issue.

You going to explain your WOW! ?

Exactly. Thankfully it's getting better, but it's still an issue. Personally I'd buy the shirt and wear it but I don't think the inevitable distraction it would cause is something a team that keeps fighting relegation needs.

I think it's a remarkable claim to make. You do realise each year clubs across the country take part in the rainbow laces campaign? https://www.stonewall.org.uk/our-work/c ... nbow-laces

I don't see any instances of people giving abuse to players for wearing "gay laces".

To say that the team wearing a rainbow kit would be a "distraction" and referring to it as a "gay kit" and saying we shouldn't do one for this reason is shocking in my opinion. It should be viewed as something positive and not a "distraction" that needs to be avoided.

You're basically saying, lets not have a rainbow kit as it could be viewed as promoting LGBT rights which is something we don't want to get involved with.

If we were linked to an openly gay footballer would you be against that as it could be "not a distraction the players need"?

No I'm not saying those things. You've said those things.
Players unions have said that gay players have told them they're not coming out because of the fear of the reaction. You've taken what I've said and decided to take offence at something I've not said.
If you want to go through my previous posts you can see I'm a fully signed up member to what a lot of people would refer to as the looney PC brigade.
I don't disagree that it shouldn't be a distraction but it would be.

No I wouldn't be against that, I'd only be interested in his playing ability. Again, you're getting upset about something I've not said and filling in the blanks yourself and assuming what my views are.

I'd love to see a campaign like this where every team adopted a rainbow kit as their 3rd kit or something like that. I just think our focus should be staying in the league, not political campaigns.
