However welcome, will give Baz that competition that is so vital. Hopefully an EFL1 goalkeeping duo this time next season.

Mark, welcome to our club! We hope you have a long and successful career here and can challenge our beloved Big Baz to take over the reins in between the sticks. We've been fortunate to have a number of really good keepers on our books over the years, and hopefully this is one more to add to the list.

What is very interesting is that he was listed on Southport’s retained list (he had 1 year left on his contract) and they were hoping new keeper signing Dan Hanford would “challenge” Halstead for the number one spot at Southport next season... So have we bought him off them?!

Were you hiding in the bushes or taking some water down for pre season training.

Looks as though Southport lost both their keepers today as their first choice has joined Guisley as player coach.
