Good day, Shrimps.
I haven't spoken much since my trip to your wonderful town (and country). The months since I got home have been a bit of a whirlwind. About three weeks after my return my son was born. I'm sure I don't need to tell you where my time has gone. He's doing well; he's starting to sleep longer through the night and is over 11lbs now. He was a few weeks early and had to stay in the hospital for a bit but he did tremendous and passed all his tests perfectly.
To do: find a Shrimps onesie.
Suffice to say, my time in England was memorable. I received such a warm welcome at the Globe that it was quite humbling. It was a pleasure to meet you all - at least all those that I could (I hope to remedy that next time) - and I appreciate all the help, assistance and hospitality. Also, the beers. I don't remember exactly, but I think I had eight or nine beers on match day and I only paid for two. I think.
Aside: that was the day I perfected the art of drinking strategically.
While all of you were absolutely wonderful, I have to give two particular gentlemen some accolades. Thanks to Steve with the trust for picking up this very, very exhausted Canadian at Lancaster to complete the last leg of the journey. I was going on about 36 hours of travel at that point (including a layover at a Toronto hospital; long story), and it was appreciated! And of course a big thank you to Freez for arranging the tour of the stadium, the hospitality therein, and putting me on the broadcast to shout out to my missus.
Thank you Morecambe! I'm counting down the days until kickoff!
