According to the Carlisle Fans Forum Campbell has been interviewed and said that he doesn't want a return to Morecambe preferring to play for a bigger club ie Carlisle. It sounds as though he's playing really well being used as a link between midfield and the strikers. Wasn't that the role that JB wanted him to play? For me if he's said that then we should get rid and when it comes to January ask a fee for him, assuming that's in the rules!

There again, he could just be saying that to appeal to the Carlisle fans.

The alternative being:

Dear Carlisle fans. I've come up here to get match fit, then hopefully after Christmas, I'll be able to return to Morecambe and get in to their first team... :?

Good luck to the lad. I quite liked him and think in the right position, in the right system, he'd be a good player. It hasn't happened with us. Perhaps if we change things around, then he may have a role back in Morecambe but if saying the right words and putting in the right performances gets him a contract in Carlisle, good luck to him.

So how did that work out then?

Hope it works out for him. He had few chances but was never going to fit in to a Jim Bentley formation.

If this is the interview in question, from a week ago
https://goo.gl/Wz6U1y

It's a good in-depth interview and he does indeed refer to CUFC as a 'bigger club' and that he was frustrated to be told he wasn't in Jim's plans for the season. He doesn't actually say 'I don't want to return to Morecambe' unless he's said that in a subsequent interview.

He played 90 minutes against Blackburn last night and hit the woodwork according to the BBC match report

Its fair to say that Carlisle sre a 'bigger' Club in all senses of the word , so dont think there's owt wrong with him saying that

He certainly wouldn't play against us if it was a league match.

I would think it unlikely he could play against his parent club even in the Checkatrade Cup.
