Is Tuesday's game make or break time?

Our third successive defeat with no goals scored and nine conceded, following on from last season's run of winless games must be making the new owners think about our management team. I wonder if Tuesday's match is a key moment? After all the management team continue to pick a lineup that most fans would not pick and in a team failing to score, exciting new players are largely ignored. Something has to give before we are in a desperate position heading remorselessly to non-league football. Hoof ball has failed and new tactics must be employed. To be called "the whipping boys of League 2" as has happened today is unacceptable. Our club is bigger than any individual. If things cannot be improved then action surely must be taken.

We might find out the owners intentions soon if it's to run a football club or just after the land...

No, one month is not enough. I thought before the season started we would be lucky to get a point in August. Northampton and Oldham both League 1 last season. We never beat Northampton or Stevenage any season. Exeter are always a top side. And Crewe are similar but was just a freak performance.

Must win game end of. O points from the opening 4 would be a disaster - I am going for a win or draw on Tuesday night, anything less, and even at this stage of the season every game will become harder and harder and the writing will be on the wall quite early.

I am going for 1-0 and an attendance of 1215.

We must adopt a system like the 1970's Luton team, fondly known as the wingless wonders, 2 centre halves and 5 across the middle with 3 up front , keeping it narrow, that'd sort it , the players should also train without a ball all week, making them hungry for it on the day.

This is exactly what I'm waiting for to find out. If results don't improve and they don't sack the management then I fear they're stringing us all along and that the football club as we know it is on borrowed time... :?

I have been following the club since 1997 and have watched them intermittently and always checked the results. I consider Morecambe as my second club now, some great memories and a local football club to me with a community atmosphere and (relatively cheap.)

This right now is quite possibly our lowest point having never been relegated before and having enjoyed a 10 year spell in the FL - things are not great now but we are only 4 games in and we can turn things around!

Have you not been watching for the past couple of years? The football has been disgraceful; both results-wise and the style played... Last season we were extremely lucky, an average league two keeper wouldn’t have saved those 2/3 shots.
- In 2018/19 season: 4 games (inc. Preston because the 4-2-3-1 system killed us in that one), no wins, no draws, no points.
- 12 competitive games without a win.
- Over 7.5 league games without a goal (our last scorer was Lang...)
- Starting Vadaine and Kev presistently until one of them scores so then Jim can say, told you so.
- Letting capable (by capable I mean, not good, but not idioticly bad) defenders go at the drop of a hat, and either not replacing them, or replacing them with someone just as bad (happened 3/4 seasons now)
- Having no faith in youth, look at Jordan, Yawson etc..., Gomes is being left out instead of Hedley (who, by the way, has had hardly a chance in the team, despite our consistently poor midfield last season)

Enough is enough, I love Jim as a man, but I believe he is dragging us down. And by down, I mean the depths of no TV highlights!

Totally hit the nail on the head here. Form at the end of the last season is a key factor especially given the squad has not been significantly strengthened (pre season games mean nothing). In addition to that the dire, ultra defensive non attacking football played if wins don't come soon enough - (draws mean nothing) then, semtiments aside, changes WILL have to made and soon.

I have aired this a few times on other threads but would Sammy MC be interested in coming back? He is only 64 and altohiugh he has not managed the club since last being here maybe he could stabilise the club until a worthy successor comes in.

If they don't get to train with a ball all week how wil they recognise one on a saturday? It's already a stranger to many a player!! Can we play three centre halves, 4 left/right backs two defensive midfielders and leave our superstar up front alone? Oh....

The club has to have at least one home grown player in the 18 man squad so that is why Hedley is there.

Evening all Cobblers fan here. Wouldn't read too much into us only having 2 points at this stage, we battered Lincoln on the opening day and again against Cambridge on Saturday. Problem is we've lost so many games over the last two years we aren't in the habit so have been smash and grabbed twice (even the Cowley brothers said they'd robbed us which says something!).

As soon as we get that first win we'll be away. Attacking wise we're creating a hell of a lot, 35 shots in our two homes games and scored 2 at Carlisle so I fancy us to score on Tuesday at the very least. Would expect a couple of changes from Saturday to shore up the defence which will hopefully do the trick.

Hope you guys survive, enjoyed my two trips to Morecambe, came up on a Tuesday night before and we played rubbish so I won't be venturing up tomorrow! See a bit of unrest in here with Bentley, from the outside looking in looks like he's doing well keeping you competitive (over the last few years) or is that a misinformed view?

Thanks for that.... I think most of us would be surprised if you don't score and just as surprised if we do if we carry on in the same manner!
Cant see too many of you guys travelling but hopefully you will contribute to 1000+

The thing I find annoying after the first 4 games is that we have signed some quite decent looking forward/attacking players. We just need to play them and play them in the correct formation !

I take it Gomes/Jagne don’t count as homegrown players because they didn’t come through our actual academy. It’d be great if they counted!

They have now introduced "club developed player" as well as "home grown player"

Home-grown players are defined as players registered at a club in England or Wales for 36 months before their 21st birthday. The seven players must form part of the match-day starting 11 plus seven substitutes.
A club-developed player is defined as one registered with the club for at least a year before the end of his under-19 season

You are now allowed 6 subs plus a Club Developed Player on the bench
