A much improved performance last night. Far less hoof ball and some neat passing. Signs of the players blending together. A big factor was the absence of the non-striking striker! Special mention has to be made of Alex Kenyon. He coped superbly for the last five minutes in goal.

I don't think the heading is really true......but it seems like it sometimes

The people you speak of will be claiming responsibility for the win , as it was their team selection and tactics
The truth is, the new players needed time to adapt, passing football is more manageable on the new pitch, and we had a difficult start to the season against very good opposition, the cobblers weren't that good , great win and valuable 3 points.

I think we all like it when we play well and win.
I think most of us like it when we play poorly and win although that doesn't happen very often. There's a saying that it is better to win the worst ever cup final 1-0 than to lose the best ever cup final 5-4.
If we play well and lose there are usually some positives to take.

There is a certain negative indiviual who sits near us, and I can swear I've seen him scowl when we score, while everyone else is cheering and clapping. Perhaps there is the
very odd one who likes it when we lose, simply because of their mentality.

Dont talk crap.
Of course if you select a team to play for example say - 3 at the back or 3 upfront upfront its going to have an impact on the defensive or attacking intent in a game.
That last time we seen a 4-4-2 set up like that was in the days of Mullin & Jevons and a 4th place finish.
Stop being a WUM even though it can be fun at times

Is that the official club line?
Very good opposition, who got beat 6-0 by Colchester.
Let’s be honest, we were hoping Vadaine had a couple of decent games so someone would take him on loan and in Kev we trust. As for Cranston, ‘he’s experienced at this level’, we never expected Sam’s injury and Alex struggled at centre back. We gave them another chance and we’ve responded to make obvious changes.

Crewe weren't that good bar one player and have now crashed down to earth, Exeter were OK, Stevenage weren't much apart from their goal.
I thought Northampton were actually the best team we have played, but we just didn't give them chance and were all over them for an hour. Hope Oswell starts again, get him used to it and goals will start to come.
With that line up we would have demolished Crewe, at least a point v Exeter and same v Stevenage.
Would like to see Gomes get a full 45.
Just a mention for reserve keeper Halstead, he looked like he was getting ready to come on, then it clicked we had no subs left, was funny watching Kenny doing a 100 yard sprint to jump on Alex

Players cant adapt and gel if they don't get a chance to play together, your almost as defensive as Jimbo

The team selection, formation, tactics and substitutions were all perfect yesterday. That is what made an exciting/entertaining game from virtually the first few minutes. Icing on the cake was our first goal of the season and Kenyon's brilliant time as goalie. I can't imagine anyone "hated" it that we won and put on a fantastic performance. There wasn't a single player who didn't put everything they had into the game. All deserved to be MOTM. Never seen anything like it at The Globe. The way our players protected Kenyon at the end was something special - especially when most of them were absolutely knackered - some excellent tackles and clearances, yet still managed a few attacking threats at the same time. Awesome. If this is the shape of things to come, attendances will start to rise again and we're safe for another season. Just need to go with the same selection/formation from now on as far as possible - forget the opposition, just lets have some consistency and let them worry about us.

I thought Northampton were better than Exeter, who were clinical but not spectacular... really surprised to see the grecians top of the pack.
Great to read some positive things on here for a change - hopefully people who like to stick the knife in at 4:50 on a Saturday afternoon when we don’t do so well, can be man enough to give the team and the manager when it is much deserved. It was a very entertaining game to watch.
Another factor in the win is that we weren’t punished for our mistakes - which we invariably have been in our recent run. We also got the benefit of some decisions. Old could easily have seen Red, the Conlan backpass straight to an opponent (punished vs Preston) was a let off, and some of the cobblers finishing was poor (Crookes at nil-nil was a sitter). Not taking the shine off the win, I’m as pumped as anyone -just highlighting the ‘fine dividing lines’.
P.S. I hear Blackpool Gimp is available for odd jobs and general maintenance around the home. He’s lost all his money betting on his own team to lose... life’s hard for him at the moment. Available anytime, especially 15:00 - 17:00 on Saturdays as he doesn’t actually bother attending games.
Kind Regards
RedRedWine

How did he handle Fleming's spectacular assist?

Soz Joel, too busy celebrating with the other 1200 or so (-1) Morecambe supporters there. For those not in the know, he's an even bigger fan of Flemmo than CC/RR was until recently.

Great result and so good to see a positive approach from the whole team. Good to see two forwards starting too! Played some good football and Imo should've been more goals for us. Northampton were an organised big side and at times we sliced through them easily. Mills looks real quality. More of the same for Saturday please! Onwards and upwards

Oh what a martyr. You brought it on yourself.
You're an awful lot less vocal on here when we play well. Hopefully we'll continue to play like we did on Tuesday if only for that reason.

Great performance and fully deserved the 3pts,playing with freedom and energy and getting the boss clapping with excitement till Barry got sent off, then the face of oh no, please not again and Kenny doing his Ace,King,Queen,Jack when Alex went in goal but worry not, as the boy did good with some great saves to earn the mom award.

Just hope he doesn't decide to go defensive without Baz and play for a draw!
