ST Open Meeting: Match Day Experience

“Our intentions toward this Club are to ensure that the business is financially sound, well structured and ultimately well run..... It is the Match-day experience where we both felt we could apply ourselves to the common cause and what we should do is agree just 3 or 4 priorities on which to focus.. We already discussed the Home stand outdoor area and also the entry road so let’s come up with some ideas.”

Trustees recently met with Morecambe FC directors Jason Whittingham and Mike Hinchcliffe. They’re keen to improve the general match day experience, and are looking for supporter/Trust member input on how this could be achieved.

Shrimps are holding an open meeting for all supporters tomorrow (Tuesday 28th August 2018) at 19:30 in JB's Bar to discuss Jason's proposals and we'll gather your ideas and suggestions. Please spread the word.

The Trust has scheduled a number of member meetings this season, although this first meeting is open to all (apologies short notice - we had hoped to get this information out at the game on Saturday). A similar meeting that was held last season ultimately guided some of the positions/opinions that the Trust represented, and gave the Trust some great items that were ultimately delivered on behalf of the membership:

Limited edition yellow shirt produced and sold by the club.
Introduction of Smoking areas inside the ground (at no cost to the club or membership) - this has been implemented from the start of the current season.
Promotional drinks prizes in all bar areas of the ground (happy hours - was used towards the end of last season)
Legends Wall - ongoing, next four inductees have been voted for by the membership.
Volunteers on match days assisting with match day clean-up.
Red heart on the home end terrace - pending

If you can’t attend, please feel free to add you ideas/suggestions to this thread - or by all means send them by email to: shrimpstrustsuggestions@gmail.com

The idea of the legends wall is great idea, but not seen by all, would like to see flag poles with the players picture, positioned on either side of Christie Way, say four on each side, great exposure, also enhancing the ground, giving it a bit of “theatre”,maybe along the Berlin Wall as well

Flags are an excellent idea, even some of those small banner-like things (on a heavy base that you get outside shops) would cheer up the entrance and would be portable as well.

I agree with lampost banners down either side of Christie Way to brighten up the entrance.

I also maintain that a large tv screen on the corner opposite the hurley flyer would brighten up the place as well as to advertise matches and generate an additional advertising revenue stream. If the new owners are going to spend some money, they may as well invest in a revenue stream!

I've mentioned this before at the old "Fans/Directors Liason" Group Meetings we used to have and it was passed as a good idea and was going to be implemented but other things took priority and subsequently never was.

Rename the boring sounding "Club Shop" to something more appealing, ie, something like "Shrimps Store".
