Where is Tutte?

I am puzzled by the absence of one of our big close season signings. I understood Tutte missed a game because of a tight hamstring but his absence continues. Is it a tight hamstring or has he torn it or is he carrying a long term injury? His longish absence when we desperately need him suggests we haven't had the correct story.

Hamstring injury, normally 6 weeks rest, and if you rush back and pull it again, back to square one.

I think he said bone bruising and that he should be back training at the end of this week.

I cannot see why the club does not give the fans updates relating to injuries or is this personal information?

Alex was in the upstairs bar(posh one) yesterday and come up to our table selling raffle tickets for Barry's Testimonial, and he was asked he replied and pointed it was his foot/ankle and basically nothing serious.

The club don't give the fans updates on anything and then they moan about "keyboard warriors" !

So tell me why players can not walk around the rest of the ground to sell raffle tickets for Barrys testimonial. This is a reminder that the rest of us are deemed to be second class supporters,it is unbelievable really as those people in the 'posh' areas are probably paying little more than your 'pleb'fans due to to the commercial side of the club being inefective in bringing in new sponsors etc,its either the Visitor or Rod every week, shambles of a club these days,Still non-league and thats where we will be next season!

Its part of the corporate package, you get a table, program, meal, match ticket, and Entertainment, this season on the the stage a MC reads the team out with one of the players where there's a quick interview, this week it was Alex Kenyon.

And it was quite busy this week, so we cant knock that, ££££

Alex may have taken it upon himself to sell raffle tickets for his team mate, with a bad foot under no instruction.

Fair points George, but I believe that groups of fans and sponsors are getting last minute deals and discounts to make it seem busy up there. So not much profit being made for the club in my opinion. Also I am doubting the match attendance figures so far this season,I reckon only 800 to 900 home fans at each game so far.Of course season ticket holders are included even if not at the game but now holiday season is over most people should be back.Wonder if the new owners have purchased 300 or so season tickets to massage the attendances, because looking around the ground it looks pretty embarrassing to me!

The very real problem is, rightly or wrongly, fairly or otherwise, that is how it feels as a non-PMG seated fan. Andy explains, quite rationally why it wasn't unreasonable for Kenyon to be in the bar after the game, selling tickets. But the club have made serious mistakes in the way the majority of supporters were left feeling after the move to The Globe. For most fans, the facilities were better at Christie Park, for the minority, the facilities are much improved. The club must deal with this if they are serious about increasing attendances.

Or they can let them eat cake?

I get what your saying mate.

This is why i bang on about an under cover area behind goal and eventually along the Berlin Wall even though Board members slag me off for knocking the new ground and move.

I don't agree. Being in the accountancy business I always try and estimate the attendance just doing a rough rule of thumb and I am usually fairly close. On Saturday I estimated 1,500 to 1,600 and the gate given was within that spread.
Even if you are correct about last minute deals and not much profit , this is still better than no deals and a trading loss.

1500 still wont make a profit though, we need 2000+ every game to get anywhere near a break even point.

Our average before this game was 2,100 which would be getting nearer to a break even if it could be like that for the rest of the season. 1,500 is no use at all although much better than the 800 ish we had for a game last season. Football is our core business and until the team start to win some matches the gates will drop off.
I was referring to the hospitality not making a loss for the day by giving last minute deals.

The hospitality, bar an odd game has been quiet for a while now. The only busy game being Northampton where those that sponsored players and put money into the Gala Draw got a deal - it was full with a great atmosphere, many new faces and wahay we got a win to put the icing on the cake.
Other than that, 'deals' are not happening hence the lack of take up.
There is a bit of friction with any discount a S/T Holder and/or a Trust Member may or may not get - this was highlighted when Mr. Goldring questioned the Hurley Flyer offering T/Ms 20% off including matchdays.
Don't know where Tutte is, he wasn't selling raffle tickets

Attendances will never get to 2000 per game under PMG and JB.The club is now down to the hardcore fans and even I arrive to games with no enthusiasm any more after over 50 years of support.I even feel that fans like you Marky are totally fed up with the situation, but can not say too much on here in case you get pulled to one side to be given 'a word of warning' as others have been for voicing their concerns.

Indeed, but it is clear that some go whatever fans are now not going. If it wasn't for making a social day out of it with friends, I would dread just going at 2.45 and going home at 5.
Do live in hope though that we will get another game like Wycombe Away which did pull the excitement strings - that, however, seems an awful long time ago now.

I really dont understand having a new owner who leaves the same in house stadium management and staff in control. The only difference I see are all the new security staff around making sure people arent just wandering in

And therein lies the crux of the matter. Season after season it keeps being said that the entire 'match day experience' is more important than 'just' what is on the pitch. I was talking in the bar after the game. Perhaps fifty people in there? For the time being, I'd close the downstairs bar after the match and have drinks promotions on upstairs to get fans drinking & socialising together. Even the MotM award emphasises the 'have's' & 'have not's'. We need to all be in it together. Bring people in so that we are all involved (and spending money too!)

Very, very good point Keith.

That was one of the highlights of the (dare I mention it.......) Christie Park days.

Seeing the after match Man of the Match presentations and mixing with the players (sometimes for literally hours and hours on end....!!)

as does the price segregation in the main stand, it should be like CP, first come first served on seats, it made you feel that we were all in it together, but reserved seats for STH of course.

anyone is welcome in the upstairs bar for the MOM etc...even people that havent paid into the match ...so thats wrong ..as for different prices in different seats..thats the norm at most grounds...i agree that it was fairly elitist at first in the globe ..but i think pricing nowadays is pretty fair...hospitality is actually quite cheap compared to most clubs.
