Interview lasts 5 minutes during which time Quinny asks 2 questions.
First one
How are you feeling at this moment in time? To which Jim says he feels sick but then goes on to give his usual synopsis of the game.
After 3 minutes 42 seconds he takes a breather so Quinny jumps in.
Only 8 games in next 2 games are Macclesfield and Grimsby. Are they 2 of the biggest games you've ever had to face? Jim's answer is yes and it's a must win game surprise surprise.
Another week goes by and once again he gets away without being put on the spot. What's the point of these interviews?

I don't think the management know what to do to halt our decline. It's just the same old same old. I would love the interviewer to ask what qualities he sees in a striker who isn't able to score goals with any regularity and who doesn't look to be consistently at League 2 standard. I would love to ask how he is addressing our abysmal goals scored. What extra training is happening to address this fatal condition? Nothing seems to be changing and very few goals are scored. What is being done to stop opposition midfield players running unchallenged into our box and causing havoc? It's been the same for the last couple of seasons but nothing seems to be done about it. In short I would love to ask what actually is being done at training as we seem unprepared and shambolic.

He would probably blame the poor training faciities/windy and wet weather. Trainingwise a certain Crapaldi liked it to a pub teams efforts and got lambasted for it, has it really changed? There isn't a spark of invention in midfield, the defence let attackers run freely at us. We are poor defending set pieces, hardly ever stop crosses coming in to our box in open play. We get to the halfway line with the ball then stop and turn round and usually the ball is given back to Baz to hoof it upfield only for the oppositions defence to head it back to him! I thik the reason Baz is captain is more because he is our playmaker! The same problems we've had for years, only now we aren't scoring goals to even pick up the odd draw.

Although I agree with the comment about Jim being grilled by a journalist, you can understand why Quinny doesn't give him a hard time.

I don't bother listening to Jim's interviews anymore, it's the same old rubbish that comes out of his mouth, week after week!
All he does in 'sigh' and say how gutted he is,and then the usual excuses come out!
Jim is well out of his depth in this job, and has been since he took over.
Get Paul Ince in, and get JB out!!
Rubbish!

Have to agree - I don't bother listening anymore either. Always the same droning negativity. If he's like that around the club/players, it's no wonder they're not performing. I really do think we need a clearout and get some new enthusiastic blood into the club, not just player management, but in all areas. A new director of football sounds an excellent idea to sort out what happens on the pitch, but we also need a new general manager/managing director to rejuvenate the rest of the club, i.e. hospitality, sponsorship, match day experience, etc. Sorry, but the Jim/PMG combo is years past it's sell by date and needs change. A couple of new figureheads would boost interest and if even just a few things were changed, get attendances growing again.

Jim sounded like a broken man in that interview , very sad to hear.
If he wants to save his job he really needs to get his mojo back. He could help himself by picking a bolder attacking line-up even if some noses get pushed out of joint. He needs to pick Mendes-Gomes , Jagne , Oswell , Oates , Manderville , Smithy etc and tell them to go out and bang some goals in against Macclesfield and if that happens play the same way at Grimsby who are another team that look worse than us.

Yup. Go all out against Macc, then play the same team & formation away at Grimsby. Stop changing formation & players to suit the opposition, play to our strongest line up and let the opposition worry about us. At the moment, they don't need to worry, even if they play crap, we will gift them an opportunity or two! And bloody well
SHOOT!

Jim take a leaf out of Coley's book and start saying how bloody good our players are and that this is probably the best squad you've put together just as Coley does every interview, whatever their result. Stop talking about how good the opposition are and about how strong their squads are. Concentrate on the positives of your players and let them take care of how the games pan out on the pitch rather than the constant barracking of them from yourself and your assistant. At times your players look confused about what they are being told, just let them get on with it after all they ARE GOOD PLAYERS as the media pre season was in agreement..and more importantly you and we the fans know.

Find myself in agreement with this
The whole of that interview was depressing to listen to. I can understand Jim being down but one of his jobs is to install confidence into the players and they are not going to be confident with the same downbeat interviews every week.

He is quoted in the Sun football report on the game as saying "i'd never walk away"
