Opinion on Saturday

Due to my re-location I dont get to see the Shrimps as much as i like but i did on Saturday.. As a long standing Shrimps fan I was interested to see the team for myself for the first time this season.

Wow! First half was a genuine hard watch as both teams were really poor! a lot of endeavour with no standout performances with no spark at all amongst the 22 players.

The second half shows how far weve fallen:
- As soon as they scored we NEVER looked like scoring aside from one free kick which was very well saved by their keeper - i turned to someone next to me who like me stated we wouldnt score for another 90 mins!
- Both our full backs really struggled, im not one to slag players off because everyone has an off day but both were struggling from the off and confidence was shot to pieces
- I thought AJ and Liam looked head and shoulders above the rest and ALWAYS looked for the ball instead of hiding. Short sharp one touch passes looked good between the two of them!
- 3 min cameo from Carlos was very positive! I understand why he might not be up for 90 mins game in game out of league 2 football but the drum was calling for his introduction from minute 60.. Not minute 87!
- The thing that really shocked me was the manager, Ken and the players came over to the fans (some of whom drove 5 1/2 hours to be there) clapped and thanked the support infact Wildig came right over to us! Jim made a token gesture and walked about 18 yards from his box to clap. I thought that was poor! Very interesting that the new owners came over and talked about our thoughts on the management!

Overall really disappointed with how far weve fallen over the last few years! What has happened to the flying wingers of Duffy, Wayne, Twissy! What happened to the full backs bombing on and making things happen in the opposition half a la Yatesy, Perks etc.

I dont mind losing, i dont even mind us dropping into the National league but PLEASE at least fight for it! because what i saw on Saturday some people on and off the pitch think we are already down!
Lets turn it around boys and lets fight for it!!!
