Difficult but at least we are at home. Prefer Halifax to be honest because we know what to expect ALSO seeking revenge for that close season scoreline..... :?:

This year we should be able to progress with this draw. Should be a few away fans come as well.

Draw at home, then live TV for the replay, and win then? 8-)

So how did that work out then?

Warrington and Halifax replay tonight.

Exeter came unstuck in the FA Cup First Round away at Warrington a few years ago.

I think we'll be looking at Halifax at home personally. Their fans always travel well in numbers.

Good draw I think. We either want guaranteed TV money (eg, Sunderland) or a beatable non-league side, and we have the latter.

Not a easy draw whoever we get. Warrington have proved they can compete against league opposition from previous FA cup encounters. Halifax played in the conference and know it will be tough. Good draw at home but we need to make it count.

AJ evidently had a spell with them on loan.

Quite a few saying they have been before, and that the Globe is basic! Cannot argue, but it's amusing, as at least we own the ground.
The Shay was a decrepit oval when we first visit in 95, thanks to council investment, its taken time but a new stand and two newish ends in the last 20 odd years, but the old main stand isn't now closed. So it's three sided, and owned by the council
Glass houses???

Remember when we played Halifax at home in October 1997 and a top of the table clash at Christie Park which drew in nearly 4,000 spectators.

Halifax were flying at the time and had Brian Kilcline and Geoff Horsfield in their line up.
The game finished 1-1. WHAT an atmosphere though........

Then, the following March (1998), we traipsed over to The Shay for the return fixture and got tonked 5-1...

Great days, great memories.

From the 'alifax forum:

My aunt is an honourary vice president at the Globe. I used to live in Morecambe. Still follow their results.

They have an awful record at home the last few years, and are very beatable. The only games they ever win are close fought scraps. Suspect they would barely be higher than us if you plonked them in the Conference right now. All to play for and it should be close. Good tie.

Wonder who this is ??

Well said. These sorts of ties worry me. We can not go out there thinking we've already won it.
