There’s another way of looking at this:
2011/12 15th Position
2012/13 16th
2013/14 18th
2014/15 11th
2015/16 21st
2016/17 18th
2017/18 22nd
2018/19 so far 20th
Be careful what you wish for. Jim continues to work miracles on a tiny budget year in, year out. The team play some good stuff – they aren’t full of big lads who should be playing rugby like so many League Two teams. Will sacking the weatherman who reads the forecast stop it raining? Of course it won’t. Yes, it would be better if they won more home games. But think of Darlington; Stockport; Chesterfield; Boston United; Hartlepool; the Daggers; Barnet; Aldershot... shall I go on? They’d give anything to be in our position now. Bentleys are class – and Jim is the best of the fleet...

So that makes 74/146 won or drawn, which gives you a 51% chance of going to the Globe &
not seeing a defeat. That's good then isn't it!

Remember our ambition is to finish 3rd from bottom and stay in the league. And we all have to be grateful for this

Hopefully we will eventually see a period of investment in the club that allows us to raise expectations. At the moment, we have bottom third National League investment resulting in League Two football. That IS something to be grateful for. I suspect that if relegated, finishing fifth from bottom of the National League. I'd rather see us battling at the bottom of the Football League than battling at the bottom of the National League. I'd
rather see us battling for promotion or play-offs but that will take a bit of cash.

Prior to last nights game Rod gave a rousing speech to a specially invited group of business people from the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and explained the new investment in the club after months of turmoil. He spoke of the facilities open to them to conduct meetings as well as how they could partner our club in a growing number of areas.
Let's hope that something comes of this get together and sees further investment in our club in a spirit of increased confidence going forward.

Well done Rod, he was there with Mick Horton.
Cant say it was a specially invited group of people as I was invited
The invitation was to all members of the Chamber. They like interacting and networking, so hopefully they walked away impressed and will come back to use our facilities.
Not sure what this has to do with losing at home though.
Cant see much coming our way from Newport, Forest Green and MK, so the home games against Yeovil, Notts Co. and Port Vale are massive in the next month

Interesting topic, theres a few factors what contribute to this.
1) i think is the design of the Ground creates a lack of atmosphere with its main stand whats to big and sub standard Terracing.
2) Christie Park was more intimidating, and would have helped Jim so to speak.
3) Family club only attitude, We dont have many Lad's in comparison so theres a lack of Banter and it often gets misunderstood as Aggressive behaviour when traditionally Football is a working Man's game and grounds do have Family sections.
4) I sometimes wonder if theres a lack of respect by the Team with home perfomances because our support is mild mannered.

You'd think any idiot would be able to see this, but sadly not. At all clubs you get the cretins that can't see the bigger picture. Same thing happened at Ipswich with Mick McCarthey. He was given pretty much no money yet their expert fans were hounding him for not getting in the Premier League, now he's gone look at them. Thankfully most of our fans do know a bit about football and this showed with the reaction Jim got at full time at Carlisle. Even after the Colchester game everyone I overheard was still pretty upbeat in defeat. Mansfield wasn't ideal but we are decimated with injuries and it was just a few days after we'd given absolutely everything on the Saturday. A few blinkered snakes on here are just an annoyance, nothing else.

Regarding number 4, there might be something in this. At away matches the team definitely gets more support, in the literal sense of the word. The big difference I notice between the two is the amount of moaning and groaning at home games, whereas away everyone seems to be getting behind the team. Away from home the odd mistakes are met with support and encouragement, not groaning and tutting.
People pay their money, they can do as they see fit though.

Speaking purely from my own point of view, often that groaning is a) not deliberate, and b) not aimed at the player, just frustration at what may have just happened. There are of course the odd moments where it is aimed at the player, but from me at least these are few and far between; the referee is a different matter though, albeit sometimes some of that's tongue in cheek.

Have to say the stats speak for themselves. I agree that the point is to stay in the FL but that is not an ambition. An ambition is getting to the PL. what I would like to know is how come the fortune tellers who say no one other than JB could do a better job have not bought the club. As fortune tellers they must win the lottery 4 times a week, get 8 score draws on the pools and get every winner at every horse race event every day. The only way that question can be answered is for it to happen. just a post note those who have a different opinion are not cretins and just an annoyance. Posting thing like that are not constructive and are offensive the remarks should be retracted either by the poster or admin.

*New ground is a not far from being modern copy of Christie Park - a modernised main stand with corporate facilities, away home end almost similar, away end similar except raised above the pitch and an open terrace opposite the main stand. - If anything it has more character than the new built 'identi-kit' grounds built today like colchester, shrewsbury and chesterfield which are indistinguishable and as soulless as anywhere else.
2) Christie Park was more intimidating, and would have helped Jim so to speak.
Disagree - see above
3) Family club only attitude, We dont have many Lad's in comparison so theres a lack of Banter and it often gets misunderstood as Aggressive behaviour when traditionally Football is a working Man's game and grounds do have Family sections.
Cost of tickets will means working class locals cant afford to watch regularly, hence why attendances now are the same as when we were in the Conference now the novelty of FL football has worn off after 10 years.
4) I sometimes wonder if theres a lack of respect by the Team with home perfomances because our support is mild mannered.
The fans dont demand much because the club has never played at a higher level than this so the fans do not have the expectations and demands of clubs like Carlisle, Notts County etc. Our support is very similar to clubs like ourselves in the league who have come from non-league recently - ie/ Stevenage, Crawley, Cheltenham. Small fish punching above their weight in big ponds.

So does that imply, that you feel somebody else could do a better job? If yes, then that must put you among the “fortune teller” category too.

Hi Slanester
Don’t know how to copy your post but you wrote
“So does that imply, that you feel somebody else could do a better job? If yes, then that must put you among the “fortune teller” category too.”
How do you come to that conclusion?
Saying no one is better than JB is specific and therefore fortune telling. I am saying that the question cannot be answered until it is asked. With 7 billion people on the planet it may be asked 7 billion times in theory hence not specific and not fortune telling.

It seems to me that the most Vocal supporters of Jim's management come from the Balcony and the freebie brigade. If they turned up at 1450, if they had to pay in and then they were told to celebrate another defeat before trudging off home gutted for another week, would they be happy? Like Andy D says, watching and supporting Morecambe FC is all I care about. I am tired of being patronized by the elite few on here, FB and at games.

You're entitled to your opinion but when someone calls it out for being flawed it doesn't mean you're being patronised. You, Westgate Wanderer, Doommonger or whatever he's called, you all like to spout a load of blinkered opinionated tosh, but when you're challenged on it you whine like babies and play the victim. It is a forum, a discussion, a debate, if you don't want your opinions challenged or criticised then don't put them in a public domain.

So on here that's errr... one person who fits that description.
You must have a remarkably thin skin.
