It has been noted by many people how well they both played when they came on in yesterdays game, making a major contribution to salvaging a point for the team.
With Ellison turning 40 this season is it likely to be his last season at the club? He can clearly still play a major role both on and off the pitch and would be a big loss when he goes, although I would assume he will be offered a coaching position at the club.
Thompson always looks steady and was impressive again especially after such a long injury lay off I would hope that he could do another couple of seasons after this.
They are both fantastic servants to the club, well experienced in the football league and a huge influence both on and off the pitch they will be leave huge voids to fill when they do hang up their boots.

Have to agree they both looked good yesterday. Still maybe a year or two left in them both, but only if properly managed. Yesterday worked well being used for half a game. Kev was far better being allowed to play upfront and not have to worry about tracking back or tackling/defending where he's really been ineffective recently when played in a midfield role for entire matches.

If Ellison extends into next year, and these is no reason why he can't looking at him now, would it make him the oldest outfield player in the FL?
Certainly hope Thompson stays also....

Ellison looks in great shape for his age.
I would sign him on for another year, just to do what he's doing now mainly coming off the bench as a impact sub and starting the odd.
Thompson, just seems to be having problems staying fit due to injuries, hope he stays fit for the remainder of the season.

Thommo's quality and experience was important yesterday. He was moving Cranston about which caused them some problems and he still has that yard to beat a man. He can also put a good cross in still which on a whole, we were shocking at yesterday. Kev looks a yard off the pace in open play but always going to be a threat
