This cup has been a disaster for us ,,ive been a supporter and life time member since it’s inception, only the games against Ipswich stand out ,,where Dixon got way laid with other members on there aeroplane,, ..the Halifax game ranked with the Northwick Victoria years ago terrible we should easily be victorious,,,it was the beginning of the end for Jim Harvey ,, will it be for James Bentley ,, I hope not,,what I think he needs is a captain on the field.. who leads by example, just as James did,Blackburn was a fantastic player with the influence of jim, when Jim wasn’t there he was an also ran, and others one could mention
Now Jim as a priority needs a leader on that field to influence the team

Some good points, well made there Storm. I’m sure plenty of Shrimps fans would agree with them too. (Please, not an opening for another JB in/ out thread.) Barry Roche, top man, top keeper, and MFC legend, but it has got to be a difficult job for him to try and captain a side from the goal line.

Wimbledon just put 3 past a side we couldn't score against in 180 minutes. They had 17 shots and 5 on target, which is funnily enough the exact same as what we managed in the first leg, and we also had 17 shots in the second leg. 34 shots, 7 on target, 0 goals.

Well done to Wimbledon.

Just to create a bit of positive spin for us from the stats, out of the total disappointment we all feel.
The Shrimps managed to create chances against Halifax, equivalent to a league 1 side, but lacked the quality finish. Always half full. ;)
