BBC Radio Lancashire reporting that the players were due to be paid today but haven’t. Apparently it will be resolved by Friday.

Might be coincidence, but cant help but feel the owners might be just as depressed as us if not more after the FA Cup exit, and revenue.
And maybe thinking of chucking the Towel in?

Doesn't sound like such a big deal then. I wonder who told them...

On and off the pitch we stumble from one crisis to another. I am unclear what the new owners have done to increase the club's income and without new initiatives we are going to continue to struggle. I seem to recall at the meeting introducing the new owners they talked of their strengths to improve the matchday experience. That doesn't seem to have happened.

The other employees have been paid so probably a glitch.
Radio Lancashire make it sound like a world exclusive even though Accrington regularly had this problem a few years back

It could just be that someone forgot to press the BACS button on time, it would take till Friday to clear the funds if so

That sounds likely. I just don't like Radio Lancashire stirring up a load of negativity over what seems to be nothing in comparison to previous difficulties, but then that's the media for you!

I’m in agreement with you fellas on this one. Let’s not get carried away, as can easily happen.

If it wasn't for Radio Lancashire (and the Bay) we wouldn't have known half the stuff going on regarding Diego/PMG/Cala/G50 etc. so I think that comment is a little unfair.

That's a different matter, and all in the past. This is obviously nowhere near as serious in comparison so some balanced reporting would be appreciated.

You clearly know something others don't by stating it's "nowhere near as serious in comparison".
If the club don't want any negative press or fans worrying, a simple statement this morning killing the story would help but there's been nothing.

How do you know it's different? At this stage why should we trust the new owners any more than the people we've had in place in the past?

I think we deserve all the negative press that we get if we can't pay our players on time. If your job involves making sure people get paid, that's the most important part of your job and processes should be in place to make sure it happens without fail. This is really amateur stuff.

A Co-Chairman runs an accountancy firm. In my opinion, there is no excuse or justification for paying late, if we've got the money in the bank. If we've not got the money then that is another problem altogether.

Typical of Radio Lancashire to report only negative comments about our club when I don't recall it being so pro active in reporting Accrington Stanley who regularly missed payment dates, but judging by their love of Stanley and the media time they get I suppose it's understandable when a certain reporter spends almost half of the Saturday results sports show waxing lyrical about his beloved Stanley much to the detriment of all the other teams in their radio coverage region.

Maybe others should use a bit of common sense then. Not paid on Wednesday but will be paid on Friday is far better than not being paid and not knowing when, often turning out to be weeks later.
I agree with your second paragraph.

It's different because the report says staff will be paid on Friday. That's different from what's happened in the past, as I explained above.

Why is it late though? The wages should never be paid late, there is no excuse if the club is being run properly. 6 months or so into the reign of our new owners and we're unable to pay players on time. Is this the tip of the iceberg? Are we at the start of another descent into chaos?
Fans should be asking these questions and holding the club accountable, not just burying their head in the sand and blaming the press for reporting facts.

Too many 'fans' are so bloody quick to cast aspersions about matters at our club without being aware of the true facts. It's almost as if they have some perverted pleasure in putting our club down, a club which they claim to support.
I'm sure that Rod and his Co-Chairman are aware of the true facts and will issue a statement in due course with a full explanation of what has happened.

No expert, but pretty sure that there will be companies that are of a far bigger financial concern than MFC, that have on accasion, due to clerical, or human error have paid wages late. Non us will ever know that though, because we,or the media have not been privy to such info. Could be that simple??
As Shrimps fans, and based on recent history, it is understandable to ask questions. But, not wanting to “make a mountain out of a molehill,” based on what has been reported so far, is by no means “burying their heads in the sand.”

It's almost as if the football club have a history of such things and this is the 3rd season in a row now where players haven't been paid when they should.
Too many 'fans' are so bloody quick to complain about being mushrooms (fed shit and kept in the dark) yet are willing to abandon their beliefs on this all because a friendly face is put in charge.

As a man who pays anything between 200-650 people a week I can assure anyone that this will not be an administration error, it'll be cash flow.
What may be the difference is the payday. The 27th? bit strange. Maybe something as simple as the monthly money from the EFL being on a day past that, however, I'm fairly sure that we were reliably told that the new owners had paid off the debt of the club? If so, surely there would be a facility open to cover a couple of days?
Also - apparently the Ace Scaffolding deal was bragged about on LinkedIn as being some kind of record deal?
As usual, lots of parts of the equation not adding up. Keep the fingers crossed.......

On the 6th July this year 750,000 X £1 shares were issued to the new owners. This injection of funds is around the equivalent of the next 2 years losses put in the bank. With the monthly EFL money being credited to the club's bank account it is hard to see that insufficient funds could be the reason for the delay in wages being paid.

5. It would seem the logical course of action. However, it would be very different to the previous Chairman. Of course, neither of them own the club or control the club's source of funding so they may not know themselves.
