This is terrible news. I wonder if Thommo would consider a swift return?

Whilst I get annoyed with Jim and Co about team selections and tactics, one has to feel that he's been dealt a rough hand by the number of serious injuries this season.
This latest one really is bad news and makes the need for at least one additional striker an urgent priority.
Jim and Co really are doing their best to handle whatever comes their way but how much more can they take before they crack....
I doubt even the most experienced of managers below the Premier League could remain positive under similar circumstances.

Really bad news for us losing our top goal threat.
All the best to AJ for a full and speedy recovery.

Dreadful news for AJ and also for the club. From the club point of view add to this the fact that Piggott and Oswell have gone, and I reckon that we urgently need a couple of strikers to take us through to the end of the season.
What about Amond and Lang ??????

Absolutely devastated at this news. Only consolation really is that is has happened at the beginning of January and we can hopefully get a couple of strikers in from somewhere. Ideally someone from a higher club on loan that isn't playing like we did with Lang from Wigan.
Is having so many injuries just one of them things are are we doing something wrong at the club in terms of training/fitness etc

Terrible news for the lad, I don't wish him any ill will, but he's not really pulled up any trees and seems incapable of working alongside Oliver who is winning just about every ball in the air.
If we had Phil Jevons back he'd have scored 20 this year.

I think we all know the issues the club goes through in terms of training, especially over the winter period. Thommo apparently flat-out refused to train on the all-weather at the college, and still ended up injured.
Only so much we can do with limited resources, we badly need a proper training ground so we can stop using school fields.

If only we could find a benefactor with a million pounds or so (more would be welcome
)to provide funds towards such a project. I'm sure land could be found assuming that we had the money to pay for it.

Shit news, reckon Mandaville could easily switch more central and do Smithy's Job.
One positive is that the transfer window as just opened and giving Jim chance to wheel n deal.

Absolutely agree Andy D. Think it might just bring the best out of the lad.

Totally agree BUT will the manager see it that way....
I think there could be an opportunity for Gomez to gain some valuable game time and to cement himself (and the injured Jagne ) contracts for next season.

Only our top scorer this season.
Not bad really when you're playing in midfield, like our next two top scorers...

6 goals in 22 games playing off the front man. His job is to get the second ball and score the goals. He's blatantly not been doing it.
Granted, I get to a game or two a month - he never impresses me.

Maybe if AJ knew where the front man ie Oliver was going to place his headed won balls then he'd have a better return; that would also apply to the others expecting a better service from a so called target man.

Granted he was in the middle of a dry spell but AJ is our biggest goal threat. Terrible news.
If Dagnall really is coming, he’d be the ideal replacement.

Could we ask Wrexham if we could borrow one of their many strikers?
If we only have Hardy up front the rest of the season is going to be no laughing matter!

Reading their forum they wouldn't be too disappointed if Bobby Grant was to leave.
