With an anticipated freeze let's hope that our excellent ground staff have been busy putting down the ground protection covers.

I can't see any reports or forecasts of a freeze, down to +3 overnight and cloudy tomorrow, it will feel cold but no ice 8-)

The newspapers do seem to be making a fuss about it with certain areas being really cold, but we are all right around the Bay area.

I remember travelling on a Double Decker Ribble (as they were then...!!) bus from Lancaster University (where I worked at the time) to Lancaster in order to catch my connection back to Warton.

Can remember being on the top deck and the bus getting literally battered by high winds and tree branches etc.

Pretty scary at the time......!!!!

Frost covers are on and will be removed from 9.00am tomorrow morning.

I’m sure Chesh and Michael would very much appreciate any volunteers to assist them with what is a pretty big job.

Thank you to the (magnificent) seven volunteers who gave up a lie in this morning, to remove the frost covers from the Globe Arena pitch. It was very much appreciated by Chesh and Michael :D :D :D

The pitch is ready so now, Come On You Shrimps.

Was indeed too cloudy to be frosty last night. The frost covers went down on Wednesday or Thursday to protect the pitch ahead of today’s match. Chesh and Michael (unpaid) constantly do their very best to provide the best possible playing surface at the Globe Arena & training ground to facilitate matches or training even going ahead.

It was mentioned to me at the last home game by a well respected and long standing fan that some help was required. I subsequently spoke to Club staff yesterday to ascertain whether the frost covers were in place and if so, whether any help would be required in their removal for today’s match.

I was informed that the ground staff would be very appreciative of the help of any volunteers to assist with the removal of the frost covers this morning. The Shrimps Trust appealed for volunteers yesterday evening, and I’m delighted to report that the (magnificent) seven turned up, having given up their Saturday morning lie in, to make life that little bit easier for our ground staff, and ultimately our Club.
