I use to be in it, its good for Cardio workouts, and even peak times your lucky to have more than 5 people in, and there's no contract, basically its pay-as-you-go.
However, its only open after 4pm during the week because of the School times, but open Weekends all day.
And same as me never bothered about looking big, only ever done cardio for my stamina, and weights to work my Arms(Guns)

I go to Salt Ayre gym. I have "Over 55s" membership, which is cheaper than the normal membership.
I like Salt Ayre as you can go virtually any time, or during quieter times (if you are free then).
Equipment and facilities are all good, lockable lockers, good showers, free use of steam room. As a member you get free fitness classes and use of the swimming pool as well.

Is the Lancaster & Morecambe College gym still open to the public? They used to have cheap memberships on offer.

There is a new gym where Blockbuster used to be. Always seems fairly quiet. Dominoes next door and Frankie&Benny's opposite though so might be counter productive

Nope. It shut to the public after someone got injured there.
