New initiative form tomorrow , pre order your half time beer for the home end in jb's bar before the game, claim with your receipt and hopefully speed up your pint . Saw it on Twitter but don't know how to copy link sorry. ;)

Great idea from the events team, really hope it’s a big success.

Genuinely hope this is a success and goes part way to improve relations between fans and the powers that be.

Just get the cover at the back sorted now...

Any feedback on this lavish investment from customer services?

They need to try it for hot drinks in the Local Choice Suite. Yesterday was the worst it's even been. 3 or 4 servers all getting in eachother's way and confusing eachother around a single hot water boiler. Really, how hard can it be to put hot water into cups?

I thought it was a good idea and it worked well for us, a group of 4.

When my mate went to do the pre-order in JB’s at around 2:20pm, the barman did say it was the first request he’d had.

When going to collect the drinks at half time, there was a sign on the counter itself that the area was reserved for the prepaid collection. Queues for counter purchases did seem to encroach on the area a little. I’d suggest a short barrier of sorts to make it a more clear separation.

When it does become more of a popular service, I would hope that the service staff pre-pour some of the drinks based on the information of the orders they have so it flows as smoothly as possible.

I noted that the posters around the ground stated the initiative will be trialled over coming home fixtures. I would implore the club to persevere with this and allow the knowledge of the system to become more widely spread. The rear bar was realtively quiet yesterday and this system will only show real value when the weather has gotten a bit nicer and more supporters keen to take in some refreshments in the sunshine. Testing this into the next season would therefore provide a clear picture of the benefits.

In the meantime I would urge people to make others aware of this initiative and for them to use it, so the club see the value and adopt it permanently.

Thumbs up to the club for this.

Just another observation. Whilst I thought the posters were clear enough that the system is to purchase the pre-order in the main JB’s bar, I think it would be easy for some to just see the headline and not appreciate that the pre-order cannot be done at the concourse bar itself.

Thinking that there may be people who don’t necessarily go into JB’s pre match but would get a drink at half time, it would make sense for a pre-order to be made at the concourse bar pre-match. Again, when the weather improves, more people will go into the ground straight away.

If the tills on the concourse can’t print the necessarily detailed receipt, perhaps ‘poker chip’ style tokens could be given to facilitate the exchange at half time?

Scotty is of course right ..this system means you queue in the bar first ..and spend..in order to use the service...its "counter productive"

I went for a hot drink as I entered and asked about the pre-order service. I was then offered to pre-order a half time pint. I did and it took less than a minute to get served bang on half time as the drinks were sat there waiting for me and there was no queue.

I think the idea with saying you need to order in JB's was to try and get more in the bar pre-match but there is no reason why you could not also do what I did.

I hope others read this and do the same next match. Seems like 90% of the home end have given up on half time refreshments (can't have been more than 30-40 people ordering tops) but they will slowly come back as things continue to improve.

To me it makes perfect sense - if you’re in JB’s prematch, when you’re ordering your last beer at 2:30 ish, pre-order your beer for half time (and pay on card if you’d like). Beer ready for collection at HT behind the goal. No more missing 5 mins of the first half, or more of the same in the second. People criticise the club for a while host of reasons, but U hope everyone in the home end terrace gets behind this initiative.

In time, I hope it also extends to other products - if you want a chicken ham and leek pie at HT, if you give the club an hours notice of this I’m sure they’ll be able to plan around this rather than guessing the number of items require based on the level of people entering the ground - and inevitably getting this wrong.

Well done MFC and Toby Greenwood in particular for at least trying to implement improvements to what is generally a shockingly poor service - as testifies by the results of the Shrimps Trusts match day experience survey.

Only available to people who pay a decent amount of admission.

P.S. Given the level of complaining and moaning from that side of the ground, it has now been officially renamed the Wailing Wall.

the prawn sandwich brigade rule eh? Not content with having a nice roof to shelter under during the match, a pre ordered drink under their second roof is a must! Tips forelock and pulls hood a bit tighter, thinking how lucky we are in the fresh open air.

Pretty sure my season ticket cost the same as it does for one behind the net? The round up gang are on fire, got our very own John Sweeney.

Good to see the rain hasn’t damaged your sense of humour.

We look down on you wall huggers of the David Morris fan club.

Be jealous. Our £1 gets a great view of the back of someone’s head at a corner; a 20 minute queue for pies; and a drum in your ear.

Thanks for picking this up Keith.

It was ironic. After our second goal on Saturday expected bags of atmosphere and loads of drumming. Instead it was as flat as a fart. Could be that the players didn’t push on but noise until the end of the game might have been good.
