1 up front against the lowest scorers in the league, hope I'm proved wrong but it's negative once again.

Hmm... I'm also concerned with one up front again. Six defensive players in a game that we really need to win. On the other hand, the three of Ellison, Mendes-Gomes & Mingola are all capable of getting in the box and scoring. I'd still prefer two up front. A draw today will be a good result for Port Vale and leave daylight between us & them.

I see what your saying.

But don't expect Cranston to sit back, I'm sure he'll be making his usual raids forward.

Good looking side!

Mingola has been doing okay and put a couple of crosses in. Gomes with a good shot, well saved. Not too bad so far.

Halstead with one of the best saves I've ever seen, definitely channeling Gordon Banks.

Sorry to say defending is woeful once again, and we can't keep possession. Whenever we've played with confidence and kept the ball we've created chances, but we're panicking right now

Another great save.

Port Vale well on top now.

Trouble with setting up too defensively is that it encourages the opposition to attack, which builds their confidence.

As I write, another excellent save from Halstead. Our MotM already!

We had a ten minute spell where we were on top but other than that, Vale have battered us and should be well clear. Halstead having a storming game, everyone else is poor. Needs to change because we're making a poor Vale look good.

11 shots, 7 on target, keeper keeping us in it literally.
Shall we just assume that we will defend till they do score, which is inevitable, then play for a 1.1 instead of a 0.0

Over the seasons, If we had £1 for everytime we heard our fans say that, we'd be self-sufficient

We make most poor sideslook good! Need a more agressive approach in the second half. We have Halstead to thank for still being in this game

Let’s just face facts we have a defender as a manager whose more interested in keeping the opposition out( which rarely ever happens) rather than playing attacking football. This really is a must win game I’m hoping for a change of formation and a more attacking mentality in the 2nd half though I’m not holding my breath! I appreciate we haven’t got the best squad in the world but you’ve got to get the best out of what you’re given and honestly I don’t think Jim is doing this!
