Six Pointers coming up...

Looking at our next four fixtures... Two six pointers and two games that any points will be a bonus.

If we lose on Saturday we're back to squeaky bum time. If we win v Yeovil & Notts County, and we'll be closing in on safety. Funnily enough, if we beat MK Dons & Forest Green, but lose the other two, we'll still be worried! Two of the next four games are really important, let's hope we win the most important two!

6 pointers indeed, but can only see us going in to them not to lose with just Richie up front, then react on the 65th minute if we go behind, sorry just how I see it panning out.
For me, we need at least 5 points from Yeovil, Macc and Notts Co., I would happily take 2 wins but it will be far from easy.
A very nervy month coming up starting with Yeovil v Morecambe and Notts Co. v Port Vale :o

Sat at Yeovil, for me,is another “don’t care,” game. 3 points is all that matters. Putting the Lincoln game (a case of a “good big un, beating a good little un,”) aside, we are still coming off the back of 6 points from 9. That confidence boost, playing away from home, a team that are “struggling,” all factors that are very much in our favour. COYS.

6 point's is very important against Yeovil as they are in my opinion our direct competition for 3rd bottom, I think at least one of the bottom 2 will claw their way out of it.

Mmm! I've thought for a while that Notts are going down and every game they don't win now makes it harder for them. I thought Macc would pull themselves out but again draws are not enough. Yeovil at the moment are looking a good bet to be in the bottom 3.

6 points against Yeovil would be fantastic mrpot.

Why do you feel that one of the bottom 2 will claw their way out? Just interested, haven’t looked at their fixtures to come.

Yeovil are a horrible side that do nowt but foul, I hope Morecambe can get to grips with this before they're kicked to bits and go on to win 0-2

Port Vale are in free-fall too. If Country beat them, I think they will be favourite for the drop, as the change of manager hasn't brought a change in fortunes.

We really need to win 2 or 3 games as soon as possible.

We have some good players who will be out of contract in the Summer and until we can be fairly sure we are still going to be in League 2 (A) We can't really offer them improved contracts and (B) the players won't want to sign new contracts.

Historically we've done pretty well against Yeovil (W5 D1 L1), so I'm pretty confident we'll get 3 points against them, especially if you consider their recent form.

The problem is, there's still such a long way to go. If a team goes on a run of 3 or 4 wins it turns everything on its head (eg if we'd lost against Vale and Oldham we'd be in the bottom two and vale would be 6 points ahead of us).

I think we have to prioritise the games against those around us - Yeovil (A), Macc (A), Notts (A), Cambridge (A) and Crawley (H). If we win those 5 then we'll be pretty much safe with at least 50 points.

If only it was as simple as that....this is Morecambe and we don't do things to make life easy for ourselves.

Of that little lot I'd like to think we could get 10 points but our form is so unpredictable that any predictions is purely 'wishing on a prayer' and looking at things through rose tinted spectacles.

I was alarmed when I heard Jim talking about the Yeovil match as a mustn't lose match. This sounds like he is going there to defend and hope to get a goal with a breakaway. I hope I am wrong in this assumption but I would prefer to see a starting line-up that includes Mandy , Oates , Aaron and Piero with Kevin as an impact sub.

Thank goodness for rose tinted specs, mine are fantastic. They saw the wins at Vale, and Oldham, and look forward to enjoying 3 points tomorrow.

we need to attack, and try to at least score, we can't rely on a Halstead miracle again !
