Good news for NW football. Do I remember Notts County being under orders ? Never good to hear of any club going under.

Did you see that Bury are up for sale? Their Chairman/owner has only been there for five months. He didn't realise the scale of the debt when he bought them. If they don't win promotion, they could be screwed next season.

it's very noticeable that many of these clubs in deep trouble are in Lancashire :(

Yes I did on TV? no pressure

Then Tranmere(self-sufficient) who've been cutting their cloth accordingly in the words of Micky Mellon who also mentioned about last season with only having cold running water for the players to shower to make ends meet.

A BWFC insider mentioned to me yesterday that Anderson transferred £14million of debt from the Bolton Whites Hotel to the football club, presumably to save the Hotel.

How the hell can they legally do that?

Bolton FC own the hotel. I am not sure on the exact rules but I think you can transfer losses between group companies.

I expect the fans were consulted before that happened

Sad to see any club in such trouble, but if we avoid relegation (or fail to be promoted for the optimists!) next season, with Bolton starting on -12 points, season 20-21 could see us having Morecambe v Bolton Wanderers as a local derby. If you'd suggested back in the mid-1980's that a fixture like that would come along, everyone would have thought you'd lost the plot.

Mind you, being in a league above Notts County would have been unthinkable too.

All the goings on at Macclesfield makes the fact their rookie manager kept them up truly amazing!

Virgin have been doing it for years, transfer debt from company to company to hide it from the tax man.

You could say the same about Ryan Lowe at Bury. Getting them promoted whilst the players are not being paid is a fantastic effort.

If you'd of said to me in 1992 - 1993 that Oldham Athletic of the newly formed premier league would ever play in the same division as lower non league Morecambe, I'd of asked questions about your sanity
Beating the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Liverpool and now playing second fiddle to Accrington :? Morecambe are doing pretty amazing all things considered.

It could go either way and last season was a very sobering thought for most Tics, keeping the club alive with the mad hatter incharge seems to be the main concern

An interesting read about how Macclesfields players STILL haven't been paid 3 months later and the effect on their mental health.

And yet the bookmakers still seem to think from their odds that Macclesfield will be above us

Unbelievable stuff going on at Bolton.

Not paid for 20 weeks now, on strike again meaning Friday's friendly match is off.

This is a grim read........

Sounds mercenary, but with things in such a mess at Bolton, I wonder if we could entice any of their players away? The top lads will be clinging on because they want their contracts to be upheld, but I bet there are reserves & young lads, who weren't on huge wages, who must be getting desperate now. They can have their contracts cancelled due to not being paid, so another club in the North West may be appealing to some of them?
